Hey there,
I have posted before and may have asked a bunch of questions. I am currently wondering if hunters or locks are better at fighting and soloing the current rares in MoP? I just want to know so I can improve my skill. I enjoy both classes a lot, though I'm leaning towards hunter more. Thanks folks! :D

I have a feeling hunters will say hunters are better and locks will say locks are better :)
I finally finished
Glorious!
last night on my hunter with no problems. I don't play a lock, but I think hunters have many more options for pets.
Although, not sure what you mean by "current rares" - if you mean warscouts/warbringers, I personally am not good enough to solo
warbringers
(although comments on those pages say hunters can do it) but
warscouts
are doable

Thanks for the replies. I am talking about the warscouts and bringers but also the ones found on Thunder Isle.

I hate to say this, but locks might be better :( having just done a couple warbringers. My hunter's pets can't tank the warbringers cause they die in 2-3 hits, but I just grouped with a warlock whose voidlord (?) successfully tanked for us. There's strats for both in the warbringer comments

The last time or two I have tried to tank the Warbringers, I noticed that none of my pets would Growl at them, and when I manually had them cast it it did nothing. It would seem that they hotfixed it so that hunters pets would be unable to taunt them. I am not sure if the same fix was applied to warlocks.

Taunt disabling should nto affect hunters in the least.
As Zakkhar correctly indicates, MD works (or should) since its not a taunt. Glyphed MD means you hardly ever actually increase your threat (barring threatwipes etc where you hit without MD active)
Its rather simple to macro in MD @focus, @pet into your shots, so you can use them in any setting and MD on CD (of course, it is beneficial to keep a set of unmacroed shots available for any fight where MD is needed for specific tasks).

That other dps overaggro your ot tank and vengeance boosted threat is another matter entirely - I don't see any previous mention of this being a group issue, but a class difference.
With proper Md'ing and the glyph, you should be doing the maximum amount of possible threat with your pet, if someone else outputs more threat than you, then yes, you can't keep the aggro on your pet.
