I use the atonement healing a ton now. I use Penance on CD, followed by PW:Solace, then smite until Penance is off of CD. I chose the PW:Solace talent due to the mana regen effect and the fact that it is a 0 mana cast. Run that with the Penance, Smite, and Holy Fire glyphs. I also macroed my Archangel in with my Cascade for a nice raid heal when damage goes out and its only a 30 second CD. This is a great rotation for certain fights Like Elegon. With good gear you can average 70k DPS and 70k HPS in the Elegon fight. My normal fight numbers run around 30k DPS with 50-60k HPS. Its a really fun spec to play now. If you have any further questions about it please feel free to ask.

You use Attonement. It heals every time you do dmg with smite, solence I believe, and penence.

didnt the patch make it so smite no longer heals through atonement? i could be wrong but im pretty sure i read that in the patch notes
Smite no longer does extra healing if you have it glyphed. It still does more damage, but the healing is always the base amount.
Actually, they also nerfed the amount healed by the damage. It is now 90% of the damage done, down from 100%.
It's a typical Blizzard move, when something is broken they modify multiple variables instead of just one.
