Blue screening problem
Return to board index
ok a little info, just recently upgraded my computer, so i am trying to install wow and starcraft2, when the wow launcher it gets to about 30%ish downloaded and then blue screen. same issue with sc2. im no computer wiz, so any help is appreciated.
If you're referring to the actual Windows blue screen of death, then you're best bet is posting or searching Google for the IRQ error. Believe it or not they're helpful most of the time.
Since it's happening at a certain point, I'm going to throw out a guess of a RAM or HD issue.
ya it said something about a irq worker thread error, idk what that means, but it only happens with wow and starcraft2. i have a terrabyte hard drive and a gtx 550ti gpu and i have 8gig ram, idk what can be wrong.
If the hard drive or RAM has bad sectors, that could be causing this intermittent error. It could also be a problem with the video or audio drivers, or something minor that's corrupted or out of date in the OS.
Try installing again, and write down the entire error message. Pay particular attention to numbers (ex: 0x9830938457) as those tend to be the most specific to that problem. Enter the entire number into Google, and search through the results for other people having blue screens while installing.
ok will do, thanks for the awnsers.
well just a update, i turned of my peer to peer transfer and no blue screening. i guess it was a simple fix.
