Best PVP Specs?
Return to board index
I have a few chars up at 90 and i wish to know the best specs for PVP for all classes. Would this be possible or is it just a, "Whatever you feel like playing" type thing? Classes i want to know are mainly DK and shaman (Preferably dps)
Well I dont play thous classes... Well I did play on dk back in WotLK.
But anyways I play as Combat spec on my Rogue in PvP. You ask why? I play as combat becose I cant stand thous little pointy sticks. Also I dont want to be in Mainstream (sublety rogues).
But I think both Ele and Ench on Shaman are both good. And dk... I would say Frost or Blood. Insane damage = Frost. Hard to kill = Blood.
Like omg sub is soo mainstream...
Like omg sub is soo mainstream...
I laughed so hard :D
But yes most of the rogues play as sub tbh 58%
Its weird that most of paladins in WotLK were rets now 74 % of paladins are Holy.
And no I'm not Hipster...
have you tried ret? yeeech so clunky the only thing worse is a prot pally
well your best bet is to just go over to a site like arenajunkies and check the rankings by spec and then ctrl+f the spec to find the number of times that spec is represented in the top 100. Some classes will have dominant specs and others will have several viable ones. But for what you are asking, resto is the dominant spec for shamns followed by enhance and then elemental. there is no arguement there.
while on the other hand dk's frost and unholy are very viable.
frost strengths are its high burst damage and offensive cooldowns to compliment them. while its downfalls are that they are glass cannons and do not do well in long fights or against efficient kiters.
unholy dk's are the most represented(by a small margin) due to their high sustained damage(in diseases and pet damage), the ability to pressure multiple targets makes unholy the strongest and most versatile(in my opinion). yet, the greatest downfall of the unholy dk is the ramp up time for one.(building frenzy stacks, dot damage). So against high burst comps unholy is at a disadvantage..
all in all both are very viable specs but unholy imo takes alot more time to master.
good luck in your decision.
says Elemental Shaman and Frost DK, but in my opinion, you should really play whichever class/spec you enjoy most and try to master it. No matter what's technically "the best", if you're not great at playing it, there's no point in playing it.
Also, you don't mention what kind of PvP you're interested in. Some specs are great for RBGs, but not so great in Arenas, depending on the comp you're playing... And if you're thinking about regular BGs, just play whatever you like best, really.
Aye off the top of my head:
-Frost DKs are great for getting kills and usually take on the role of target calling.Necrotics strikes and deathgrips are improtant to learn how to use wisely. You also play the role of aoe deathgripping enemies into ring of frosts or solarbeams, so situational awareness is a must.
-Unholy DKs are very good as well but require a bit more macros/fine-tuning and they can be a bit more resilient vs magic dmg. They also can hold a node more efficiently with a pet. They do extremely well in Dot-cleaves.
-Enhance Shamans are ideal in a melee cleave comp, they offer mobility(aoe freedoms) to the raid which increases overall dps. They have decent brst/dmg but their niche is Purge/dispels.
-Ele Shamans are great at burst and switch killing. They also have great peels via snare totem and Thunderstorm. Thunderstorm and be a real big game-changer with executed with Gorefiends Grasp(DKs) in any map with deadly fall dmg. They can fit in any comp imo but do well in caster comps. If they get focused it can be rough. So they also require good peelers.
-Dks in general are great for any bracket and any comp when played right
-Enahnce Shamans do well with warriors(or any Dps really) and Hpallys( look up turbo-cleave on youtube)
-Ele shamans have it a bit rough in arena but if you persue it, you'll need a good team that gives you enough time to free-cast. But great burst none-theless making kills easy to get. Id shoot for a good stun-lock rogue, or Dk, or mage.
