Spell Lock (Optical Blast) back to it's orginality.
Return to board index
I was reading updated patch notes from yesterday (Jan 30th) and it seems that our Spell Lock (Optical Blast if you run Supremacy) is going to apply the 3 sec blanket still. Also I saw Mages' Improved Counter Spell has been re-added to the game.
What's everyone's thought on this?
Personally I saw the blanket silence for warlocks to be a strategic advantage, E.G.: when you're fighting a hybrid class such as a Boomy, or Ret pally blanket them when they are at low health so they cannot heal and burst them the rest of the way down.
Now for Mage's it seems a little over powered, having 2 silences (Frostjaw, and Improved Counterspell) but that's just me.
I would like to hear other Warlock's thoughts on this "change"
with the change to blood fear i'm glad it's returned. (all changes to spell lock have been reverted as of 03/02/13).
for those who haven't seen the blood fear change:
Blood Fear has been redesigned. This ability is now cast on the Warlock, and causes melee attacks that strike within the next 60 seconds to fear the attacker. When cast, the ability has 1 charge, costs 5% health to activate, and has a 30-second cooldown.
(HP cost is a bit more reasonable now. Still not as good as blood fear)
Yeah I agree, I was happy to see it reverted.
Also as of today, Blood Fear has been changed to Blood Horror and will now cause the melee attacker to run in horror for 4 seconds and be under the "Horrify" DR. So now it will not share DR with our regular Fear.
I think if they insist on going this direction with Blood Fear, then this is a good step. I would like to see Blood Fear eventually be something like Mortal Coil, where it's instant but only lasts 3 seconds, and on a 45 sec CD, this way we can follow up with regular Fear without worrying about getting silenced.
