I'm not sure if I am posting this in the correct place. I have also posted this in the Quest comment but I wasn't sure which would have got a quicker response.
I saw some posts above from around 2011 where they cant turn the quest in. When I accept the quest 2 clams already appear to be collected. I go and collect some clams, 3 clams later and I've completed the quest. I return to turn in the quest but the continue button is greyed out. I have no other clams in my bags. i abandoned the quest and tried again but the same thing happened again. Do you know if this problem was solved? If so how did they turn the quest in?
Have you tried deleting the clams you have in your bags after deleting the quest? If not, try that and see how it goes for you.
The help thread would have probably been the best place for this by the way. And a bug report needs to be sent to Blizzard to let them know its still wonky.
Sounds to me like you probably have 2 clams in your bank, and that is why it won't let you use them to complete the quest.
(This may not be the case, but it's the first thing that springs to mind when I read your post)
It is most likely 2 clams in your bank, as GravenTerenas suggested. The clams already drop before that quest (and become a currency for their (most useless) rewards later) so you apparently put them into your bank in the meantime. The bag/bank search field should help you locate them.
