TOP 10 MOUNTS IN WOW
I tried to put together the most comprehensive list that I possibly could, taking into consideration almost every aspect that would go into making a mount amazing. Obviously everyone has their own opinions on what their favorite mounts are, so lets hear yours!
10. Azure Water Strider
9. Spectral Tiger
8. Mimiron’s Head
7. Pureblood Fire Hawk
6. Ultramarine Qiraji Battle Tank
5. Onyxian Drake
4. Flametalon of Alysrazor
3. Magic Rooster
2. Astral Cloud Serpent
1. Ashes of Al’ar
I think my Blizzcon Bear mount is pretty funky :)
Big Blizzard Bear
Flying Cloud from Lorewalker reputation.
Not in any particular order:
1) Raven Lord
2) Twilight Drake
3) Heavenly Onyx Cloud Serpent
4) Green Protodrake
5) Swift Spectral Tiger
6) Icebound Frostbrood Vanquisher
7) Corrupted Fire Hawk
8) Azure Drake
9) Winged Guardian
10) Red Flying Cloud
Saw that video on tumblr, but I far from agree with it. I feel like Al'ar is propped up by the rarity factor because of all the phoenixes in the game I find it to be the least impressive. I think the Challenge mode Phoenixes have it beat by a landslide, and the Alysrazor/Firehawk phoenix looks cooler, too.
Don't get me wrong, I'd still love to have Al'ar but I just don't understand how it can continually make the #1 on so many lists when there have been such cool mounts added in the last 5 years.
Zulian Tiger will always be my favorite though. If only it was possible to obtain. *shakes fist at rehashed content*
Maybe we'll see the Zulian on the BMAH eventually.
I would have to say the best as far as most useful goes it has to be hands down:
Azure Water Strider
Being able to walk on water and take some damage while doing so is extremely helpful when leveling alts.
My flavor of the month mount atm is Grand Armored Wyvern that is because its new and pretty cool looking. My overall favorite mount is probably is probably the Flameward Hippogryph. I like mounts that aren't to big but still look good. In all honesty I have my Red Flying Coud hot keyed for those times I need to see more of the world then my mount.
would be nice (yeah it's a self-plug, but so is this thread, too :P)
Well, let' see...
Wooly White Rhino
- my main's mount because I won it on Wowhead :P the only downside is the "on rails" running animation, leg movement doesn't match the speed
Swift Horde Wolf
- posing on alts
Drake of the West Wind
- still farming
Drake of the North Wind
though, would be perfect for my Ele in T6
- still the most beautiful ground mount, spent so many runs on it, with a group during BC, alone in WotLK - and when Anzu didn't need to be spawned anymore, I got it on 5-6 alts within 2-40 runs
- for the looks, and because I won it with a natural 1000/1000 on the first HM kill
Jade Cloud Serpent
- honorary mention, like the look but hate the swerving animation (not as bad as
Heart of the Aspects
' stakkato though)
My favourite is my winged guardian, hes so cool ^3^
My list changes everyday, so not sure what my top 10 would be.
This list is what i tend to use, most of the time:
X-51 Nether-Rocket X-TREME
The Horseman's Reins
Horn of the Vicious War Wolf
Reins of the Bloodbathed Frostbrood Vanquisher
Turbo-Charged Flying Machine
Reins of the White Polar Bear
Reins of the Azure Cloud Serpent
My list goes like:
1) Any worg mount, they all look kinda cool
2) Any forsaken mount, they all look kinda sweet, especially the lvl20 skins
3) Wyverns for flying, since i have to fly.
I also like the Human and Gilnean mounts, horses are kinda basic. No cats, dragons, raptors, gyrocopters, flames, wierd light stuff, lightning bolts, living shadows, lazors, or flying heads for me please. And preferably no bright colors or wierd patterns. Well, for some odd reason i collect mounts anyway, i have 151 of them, but i just use a very limited few. (Wolves, skeletal horses, the Argent warhorse, and the wyverns)
Flying Cloud from Lorewalker reputation.
My favorite mounts are anything that's small. I rode around on the TLPD for a while after I got it, but the wingspan is just so huge that as soon as mounts went account wide I switched (I got it on an alt who didn't have as wide a selection as my main). And maybe it's a side effect of my first server being a PvP one, but I like mounts which blend in somewhat, though this is secondary to the size.
+1 for Flying Cloud, I immediately fell in love with it when I got it. One of the smallest flying mounts, so it doesn't get in the way of anything, no annoying constant movement (which is why I can't stand cloud serpents), and you can use it on low-level alts and in no-fly areas (though for some reason you can't use it underwater like most other "hybrid" mounts, but that's a really minor problem)? What's not to like? Plus, it's a perfect fit for my rogue thematically, since I'm crouched and can keep my weapons drawn.
Best is like beauty - it's in the eye of the beholder. Although expensive, the Traveler's Tundra Mammoth is extremely useful. You always have a vendor with you (unless you're in a place where you can't mount) and a repair guy. With the account-wide mounts, this guy is a boon to leveling alts.
