UI media not working
Return to board index
Hi guys, I just returned to WoW after a long break. I am now having problems with UI media: I am unable to select any bar textures, fonts, etc. SharedMedia doesn't work either.
Here's what happens every time I try to change something:
Sometimes a couple of textures would show up - default ones - and I'd either be able to select one, or they become non-interactive and I wouldn't be able to click on any.
It happens in every addon I have, including PB4 and Stuf. I've updated all addons where possible. I've tried using both an updated and an old version (the one I was using prior to taking my break) of SM, and nothing from it even shows up. I've never had to update SM anyway; the same one worked though all patches and expansions.
Perhaps it may be helpful to note that I'm currently on a 10-day free trial return.
Cheers for your time.
Do you have both libshared-media and the sharedmedia addon installed? The first is just a framework, it doesn't provide any textures.
Well, I haven't done anything to SM since I returned, so there shouldn't be any missing files.
Thing is, even the default add on textures aren't working properly.
It could be another addon loading an out of date version of lib-sharedmedia, it could also be an issue with your savedvariables... Have you tried backing up your ui, and installing just sharedmedia and like pitbull and seeing if that fixes it?
I just gave that a go, and the problem occurs regardless of whether SM is present or not.
I might just live with it for now and see if any changes after I actually buy the expansion.
sounds like one of your other addons is causing the issue... Try starting fresh and putting things back in in batches.
You were absolutely right. After I allowed for the outdated mods to be loaded, the problem went away, so the absence of one of those mods must've been the cause.
Thanks for your help.
