Challenge runs the new "hardcore"?
Return to board index
Just noticed that Dream Paragon got a team in Top 20 for challenge runs. Do you think we will start seeing more of the top-end guilds doing challenge run to show every one they are great at the game?
I like following the progress raids but it seems like it only takes a few days to finish heroic raids for quite a few guilds, so perhaps they are looking elsewhere for challenges, or what do you think?
I don't believe that these top guilds are using challenge modes to flex their gaming ego. They are already notable guilds who have downed current heroic raid content, so doing a challenge mode doesn't really add much to their expertise in WoW.
What I do believe they are doing is running these challenge modes to stay sharp. Like football practice or the military, you train like you fight and fight like you train. To stay vigilant, it would make a great deal more sense to be running these challenge modes frequently rather then the basic 5-man heroic. I wouldn't doubt if these guilds are also high up in the Brawlers guild rankings too because of how that particular gameplay demands that you to know your class inside and out.
