Talent-Gear-Stance swap Macro Questions
Return to board index
I am fairly inexperienced with macros, so i have some questions concerning a macro for switching talents, swapping gear sets and changing stances/auras/shields, etc all in one go.
Any input or advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you all.
I copied this macro from a site (wowwiki I believe) and it originally had Devotion Aura and Retribution Aura instead of the warrior stances.
#show Battle Stance; Defensive Stance
/cast Battle Stance; Defensive Stance
/equipset DPS; Tank
/usetalents 2; 1
Line 1: I am unsure as to the purpose of the #show and it doesn’t seem to have any effect, so I removed it when implementing it in game. I left it in for this example in case anyone could shed some light on it’s purpose. Would that be for the tool tip or icon?
So far, I can only get it to switch gear and stance by clicking it a second time.
It does the talent change, then I have to click it once more to activate the gear and stance change. Upon the second click, once it changes gear and stance, it begins to cast the talent change again. I simply press the space bar to jump and cancel the cast. I am not sure if there is a way around this to have all done in a single click. If not, its understandable and no big deal.
I was considering for shamans adding a line for shields:
/cast Water Shield; Lightning Shield
Weapon imbues may be problematic because you need to actively select the weapon to imbue. Perhaps there is a way around this such as:
cast/ Earthliving Weapon equipslot 16 Name of Weapon; Flametongue weapon equipslot 16
Still, this may not even be possible. I’m also unsure of weather brackets or a semicolon are necessary in there as well.
For prot/ret pallies, I was considering a line to cast/cancel Righteous Fury.
I'm currently not sure how to implement this though
/cast Righteous Fury; cancel Aura Righteous Fury
Again, thank you for any advise or input.
will only work if you have the question mark icon selected for your macro. In this case, if you have spec 1 active, it will show the Battle Stance icon and the Defensive Stance icon if you are in spec 2. This line can be remove if you want to choose a specific icon for your macro.
As for the other issue with your macro, that are better suited people here to explain and give a work-around to solve it. With what you gave here, I don't really know why it's not working. Maybe a priority problem over some other slash commands. Should it be purely sequential? I know switching stance triggers the GCD. That could be the issue here.
btw, here's your macro explained :
Last thing, /cast and /cancelaura are to different command, so they cannot be embebed into each other like that.
/cast Righteous Fury;
/cancelaura Righteous Fury;
You could also just cast Righteous Fury without any mod and add
