Loot rules in dungeon finder/lfg?
Return to board index
I've read about the new lfr loot changes, that you win a roll and afterwards the game finds you a suitable drop, but how does it work in lfg?
I'm currently playing restodruid on a trial account, I know about the usual hysteria about druids rolling on cloth and all that, but will I even be offered to roll on say Robes of Arugal if I sign up as a healer for SFK through dungeon finder or will the game decide that I'm a leather wearer and only let me roll on leather drops?
i havent played much on low level alts yet since MoP came out but i believe its still the same as it was in cata. all vanilla dungeons dont have any class restrictions on loot, thus as a paladin you're able too need on cloth. once you hit outland and higher the class restrictions kick in.
I believe that is still the case.
If you can wear it you can roll need on it.
The reason is Vanilla content had very little gear for some classes (Holy Pally being one) so you'd often see Holy Paladins in cloth (I believe leveling with heirlooms the cloth pieces are still close to BiS for a healer)
It kind of sucks if you just want to look pretty, but from a practical point of view you tend to outlevel the stuff so fast these days that its barely worth picking up in the first place.
The last character I leveled was a holy pally and I saw a number of fights over the gear that dropped in random dungeons. I had mostly cloth BOA cloth gear (works just fine for dungeon leveling) and so I didn't need anything that dropped until higher levels when plate mattered. I just told folks that the gear is going to be replaced in a day or so later anyway and that put an end to most of the arguments.
Okay, glad to hear it's possible, then I just have to endure the whining when Lady Fortuna favors me with an upgrade.
