Need advice enhancement shaman
Return to board index
I am a level 88 enhancement shaman. I feel like a noob and there are a lot of things I don't know.
Right now I am having difficulty in dungeons. I am embarrassed to say that while dpsing in dungeons my damage is only about 15 -18 . Everyone else's is usually in the 20's. Would someone please give me some suggestions about what sort of rotation I should be using? I use wind fury on my main hand and flametongue on my off hand. My main totem is the searing totem.
I have lightning shield, chain lightning, flame shock, earth shock, frost shock, lava lash, flame fury, and feral spirit.I have tried to get as much agility as possible in my equipment. I think my general equipment level is around 360.
I don't understand how to stack things and I have never used glyphs. I try to read things online but I don't always understand them. I would appreciate any help.
place searing totem or fire elemental totem, summon your wolves, ascendance, stormblast whenever its off CD, earth shock, lava lash if your totem has applied 5 stacks of searing flames, lighting bolt whenever maelstrom hits 5 stacks, then once ascendance wears off stormstrike whenever its off CD, thats my main rotation for boss fights. oh and make sure you have enough hit rating. hope this helps with your dps problem :]
How do you apply 5 stacks of searing flames? Please explain
your searing totem or fire elemental totem being out apply searing flames, searing applies it everytime it shoots and the elemental applies it everytime it hits anything
Thanks for your help.
Well I'm not an expert by any means and for that reason I sympathise with the feeling of reading large amounts of technical info on various sites which can just end up confusing the picture. So, I'll mention just a couple of things regarding the rotation/priorities. Hopefully others more knowledgeable than I will be able to keep me right if any of this is in error, or if there is a better way forward.
For a single mob I go for something like the following:
. This starts applying
- Start off with
. This can be done at range to tag the mob and start your melee. Assuming you have
on your main hand weapon and
on your off-hand weapon you'll now have buffed melee attacks from
and more importantly your next fire spell will have it's damage increased by 30% by
- next up, to make the most of that 30% increase in fire damage apply
. The other flame spell option is Lava Lash but as far as I understand it over the time that Flame Shock is ticking, it provides better DPS than a buffed LL. Besides, Lava Lash should be held back for the moment...
is your next priority.
- By now your
buff from your
should be approaching it's maximum stack of five. That buffs your
by 100% (20% for each application of
) So, hit
every time your Searing Flames get to a five-stack.
- It's likely that your
stack will have hit five by now so you can get an instant-cast
at this point.
Once your initial attacks are all in you'll want to then settle into a priority list of attacks. This means simply that the attacks nearer the top of the list are your highest priority and should be used as a higher priority over those below. The list pans out like this:
are applying from your
once it is buffed by five stacks of
used on cooldown.
on cooldown, ideally with a five-stack of
refreshed but ensure that
as a filler when everything else is on cooldown.
You have plenty of other extras to boost your DPS when you need it, but hopefully the above will be of some help in how the basic special attacks are prioritised.
