WoWs not working right.
Return to board index
so, i played for a bout an hour and it ran perfect, as always. but than i decided to start a new Death Knight. once i started i saw some problems. here are some examples of whats wrong:
-Clicking on quests and quest items and other things are non-responsive. i click on them an some times it responds after a while but most the time nothing happens.
-moving items from my person to my bag ( vis versa) takes forever. i mean FOREVER.
-when i activate things like hearthstone, my player does the animation but nothing else.
-when im in combat (even NPCs) it will freeze up.it will let me move around but not perform actions. than it will catch up and i usually find my self dead.
the last problem sounds like internet problems but i dont know about the others. i would appreciate any help i can get.
Everything you describe above sounds like a latency related issue. This could be your internet connection, or possibly even a severly fragmented hard drive. I suggest first restarting, doing a cold boot (power completely off, not a "restart") of the computer, as well as powering off your modem / router / etc for 10secs. Let them all come back online, run their startup and reconnect. Jump back into WoW and try again. I use an addon to show my latency to the server. This can be invaluable info for detecting why things "don't happen the way they should" when interacting w/ the world.
Personally I use Titan Panel (with the performance tab activated) for this.
You can see your latency in the default interface by hovering the "System" button (computer icon) in the options panel in the lower right.
