Are you on the correct Wowhead Client download page
and do you click the right version, I assume Windows? This should get you a .zip file, which contains the .exe which you have to unpack, I suggest simply to C:\\ , and then launch this .exe

English please? when I click on the download in the folder.
No offense, but right back at ya.
Did you click on "Download now! 206 KB, for Windows" and that gave you a folder-like window? (MS Windows displays .zip files like folders if you have no specific program to handle those)
You should see a file called "Wowhead_Client" as the sole content of that "folder", which I guess is what you mean by "download".
I'm not on an English version of Windows, but you should see a button that says about "Extract all data", which gives you a dialog to select a destination folder. Enter C:\\ then check "display data after extraction" and confirm. After a few moments, a new folder should open. Locate the Wowhead_Client file (should be near the end of the list, so scroll all the way down) and double-click it. Once it was started once, the program enables itself to launch on every computer startup, so you don't have to launch it manually.
Now, with the program running, open Tools>Options and enter your Wowhead login, and also click the first "Detect" button under "WoW folders". Under Preferences, everything should be enabled by default, if not, check those options, and confirm with "Ok".
Minimize the Client window (the _ button two left of the red X) and the program will recede to the system tray and work from the background.
