Ever wanted to play games with the people you have bitter, lore-driven arguments with for some reason? Ever wanted to prove that your stat weightings are more accurate than someone else's by firing a crocket at them? Well now you can! This is a useful resource to see where and when you can play which games with what Wowhead folks! This is (hopefully) a fairly unfinished listing for now, as I'd like to have a bunch more games than those I know of off-hand, so apologies if it's a little disorganized.
Please let me know if I miss anything in this list, but remember that this is
not
a directory for discussion threads. It's a directory for ways you can actually play these games with other Wowhead members. For example: I know we have a Minecraft discussion thread, and I know it's the kind of game that would lend itself to a Wowhead server sort of thing, but since (as far as I know) we haven't got an established Wowhead server, I'm not putting that
discussion
thread in this directory.
Important:
Whoever is in charge of any given game server/group/vent server is going to expect you to act like a decent and reasonable human being. As such, while most of the items listed in this directory are not officially associated with Wowhead, I strongly suggest you adhere to the
Wowhead forum rules and guidelines
, as well as any other rules pertinent to whatever it is you're doing.
Gaming Communities
Wowhead's Steam group
- Mostly this is used for TF2 events, but Wowhead folks play a lot of games, and it's a public group, so why not join?
Neutronimity's Wowhead gamer list
- So far primarily for WoW and TF2. It's designed to work with any game you please though, and there are a smattering of SCII and LoL players on here. Don't be afraid to put yourself down for anything multiplayer!
Queggy's Wowhead gamer list
- Mostly TF2 and LoL, but again, there are some other games there, so feel free to look at it and maybe add yourself for some other games while you're added.
Part of me thinks we should really consider merging these two lists.
MMOs
Wowhead's unnofficial WoW guild (US region)
Sandbox
A couple of Terraria servers hosted by Wowhead members
*
Strategy
SCII
Magic: The Gathering
- This is a simulator website. You won't be expected to pay several hundred dollars to get enough cards to compete before you can jump in.
Communication
Wowhead Ventrilo server (courtesy of Interest!):

*This Terraria thread with the asterisk has information regarding Hamachi servers (is that what Hamachi has? Servers?) because they are necessary for multiplayer Terraria. You can also use Hamachi itself as an IM engine, if you wish.
Feel more like chatting than perpetrating pixelated violence? Wowhead has an
IRC channel
.
- This is, unlike most of the rest of this post, an official Wowhead thing, so be especially on your toes regarding rule following here.

Yeah the rough plan in my head is to have people contribute such that I have more than four entries, then pretty it up a bit once I have enough stuff to make some kind of organizational scheme.

The information about the wowhead vent is in Interest's profile. :)
Edit:
I own the vent in which Wowhead users go to. Want in? The info is:
IP: tx1.ugt-servers.com
Port: 29972
Password: interest
Any attempt to harass other users or violate Wowhead's rules and so on will result in disciplinary action.

Got it! Also added in a little blurb about not being a terrible person.

Interest
Yay my vent got on there.
It's also worth mentioning the
IRC Channel
, I'd think.
Post by
pezz
I suppose so, but it's going to get shunted off to the side, pretty much. The vent, at least, is useful for facilitating games, which is why it gets its own particular honorable mention.

Interest
True. But you can use it to look for friends that may be on IRC and nowhere else.
Or...find more players =P

pezz
True. Good way to send out an announcement for non-Steam stuff.

I'm so looking forward to someone hosting a Wowhead Minecraft server :)

Horizontal lines make everything better. :X A.K.A. I prettied this up a bit. Sorted into genres, but that kind of made this look even more incomplete. Still! It's organized.
For some reason, I was sure Squish had a list of Nintendo Wi-fi friend codes in a thread somewhere, but now I can't find it. Was I making that up?

Wasn't me, per se, but you're right - do a search for Pokemon threads and you should find it. I don't think it was a comprehensive list, just people posting in-thread. Soul Silver and Heart Gold, I think. Or 'Pokemon Trading' or something like that.
There's a list of Starcraft 2 friend codes on the SC2 forums by vgk -

That pokemon thread is... disorganized, to say the least. I'm not going to post a link and say 'here, look through 13 pages to find a handful of random friend codes, good luck,' I don't think. Got SCII added in, though.

Squishalot
Hah, yeah. Just thought I'd highlight it for you though, seeing as you were asking.

I do appreciate that. I didn't realize how spontaneous it was, and was looking through your threads for something called 'Nintendo wifi friend codes here!'

Btw, stickied :)

For the record, Hamachi has a chat feature.
