I've never really been made afraid by literature at all; shot stories or anything.
I'm a big fan of King and enjoy reading his works because of the interesting stories. They really aren't scary. (The movies scared me as a kid, though)

But have you researched Slendy enough to decide? A couple theories floating about is that he exists simultaneously in many points on earth, because his full consciousness can't manifest. /shrug
/shrug Indeed, since I don't care that much about him; I don't find him scary, I found Marble Hornets lame, and the rest of the stuff about Slendy bores me.

Except again, you leave out the fact that Freddy is what he is thanks to a power upgrade by a set of entities known as the Dream Demons; he's not just some 'ghost' or 'ghoul' like Jason is a zombie. I don't think Slendy would stand up against Freddy, and I don't think he's an abomination either like It or something out of Lovecraft. And likewise, I don't think Freddy has sh*t on Slendy, because Freddy at his core is still a human, and Slendy is apparently something completely foreign. His whole scare appeal is that he's not a demon or a murderer or a monster, but rather that we
just don't know
what he is or what he wants. You can't escape him, you can't beat him, you can't reason with him, and worst. You don't even know if he wants to kill you or not. He just watches you, follows you, and there's nothing you can do to stop him.
I realize we have different tastes (in everything :P), but to me, Slenderman is much, much creepier than Freddy or other classic "monsters" like him.

(The movies scared me as a kid, though)Like I said, since literature isn't a visual medium, it's rather difficult for them to be scary, at least without you getting invested in the characters and being scared
for
them.
Still though, I highly recommend Lovecraft. His stories are genuinely good, on top of his inventing an entire genre of horror fiction.

Adams, you should check out Tribe Twelve: WAY better than Marble Hornets with better scares.

Just because you don't care for him doesn't mean that he sucks. Just... fyi.

Adams hasn't said he sucks, just that he dosn't find him scary and he likely wouldn't last in a battle against Freddy. He always reminds us its his
opinion
. And I agree; Freddy would slice and dice him up before too long, his nature seems to imply that he's beyond the capabilities of find mucking (ucwhutididthar). Without that Slendy dosn't seem to have any real way to keep Freddy, who seems to have more skill in actual fighting, from beating him.
And just because you think Slenderman is the best thing ever dosn't mean everything else is less than him.

Never said he sucks, just not as scary as everyone paints him. And since this is suppose to be a 'battle' between them; I'd back Freddy to win because of what Krueger is over Slendy.

I really haven't painted it either way. I have remained with, as per my usual technique, pointing out misconceptions.

Let the battle begin.
The girl ran down the dimly lit hallway, glancing behind her with terrified eyes. When she reached the end of it she turned to the right, but quickly saw the path she had chosen was a dead end. She turned to run back the way she came, but her path was now blocked. A man standing in the shadows walked towards her, a clawed finger dragging across the wall as he approached. He chuckled, stating to tap the claws on his gloved right hand in a rhythmic pattern. A pattern similar to the tune of One, Two, Buckle My Shoe.
The girl gulped and did her best to steady her breathing. “I’m not afraid of you, Krueger,” she said, her voice trembling slightly, as was her whole body.
Freddy just chuckled. “So you’re shaking ‘cause your boyfriend’s a little rough, huh?” He slid his claw off of the wall and held it close to his face as he stepped into the light. “Don’t worry, I’ll be nice and gentle.” He raised his claw and went in for the kill, walking a few paces forward only to realize she wasn’t lying. She really wasn’t afraid of him. So then what was it that had her all worked up?
He glared into her eyes and then followed his gaze behind him, turning to see a very tall and very thin human figure standing beneath a light. It wore a suit but Freddy saw it had no hands or face. He found himself getting a little scared of the figure himself, maybe even sick, but he quickly shrugged off the feeling. His souls gave him the power enough to do that. “Just who the hell are you?” he said, brandishing his claw and scowling.
The figure didn’t respond or move forward. It just kept standing; silent and motionless. Freddy twitched the index finger of his gloved hand, the wall next to the faceless man coming crashing down on him. After it seemingly crushed him, though, Freddy saw that he was still standing, just a few inches away from the side of the fallen wall. “Fast for a big guy,” he muttered, twitching his claw again.
The whole of the hall responded to his power, pulling itself apart and sending itself flying at the figure on Freddy’s command. Nearly all of the projectiles missed, and even those that did land a blow only seemed to phase through the figure. The tall man advanced forward, heading towards Freddy, but Krueger was ready and stepped to meet him.
One step with his dream-fueled power set him right next to the suited man and he slashed at his face. The attack missed, the slender man being a foot away from where he had been standing seconds before. Freddy moved in again to attack, but so did tall man. The battle devolved into Freddy jumping all over the dream realm to try and strike this intruder in his nightmare while the suited figure just kept dodging. “Real fast,” Freddy muttered as his attacks continued.
Finally he landed a blow, a light scratch that cut up a part of the slender man’s suit. The figure finally retaliated, lashing out with its handless arms, which seemed to grow in length, and knocking Freddy into the wall behind him with enough force to knock a larger man out. “Strong too,” Freddy said as he stood back up. He then saw the figure had closed in on the girl he had been chasing, wrapping its tendrils around her while she screamed. “No! She’s mine!” Krueger yelled, then appeared next to the girl, grabbing her and attempting to pull her away from the man while he stabbed at her throat.
She woke up before the blow landed, dragging Freddy and Slenderman into the real world, but the blow landed all the same, cutting her throat open and letting her bleed out. “F*cking b*tch,” Freddy scowled, looking at the slender man to see him walking away. “And where the hell do you think you’re going, fugly.” He charged Slenderman, stabbing the other supernatural being in the back of the head with his claws. A clear liquid seeped out of the wound, but it wasn’t blood.
Slenderman spun around, knocking Freddy away again, but this time shot its tentacle-like arms forward and pierced Krueger’s body, pinning him against the wall. Freddy, grabbed at the now rigid arm-like appendages piercing his body and growled in the back of his throat. With a single slash he cut the one going through his chest, and with another he severed the one going through stomach. He pulled out what remained of the arms and tossed them aside. “Let’s dance, assh*le,” he said, taunting his opponent to come closer with his index finger.
Slenderman lashed out with his arms, which showed no signs of ever having been cut, but Freddy managed to dodge underneath them, moving in and stabbing his opponent in the chest where he heart would be. That did nothing to slow the Slenderman down, and his arms retracted and knocked Freddy away again. Kruger hit the girl’s nightstand, knocking over a camera which snapped a photo of Slenderman as it hit the ground. In an instant Slenderman had his arms crush the camera, but Freddy grabbed one with his ungloved hand, chuckling and grinning at the Slenderman.
“A little camera shy, are we?” he said in his darkest tone, pulling the tall man towards him with a sharp tug on his arm. He moved to the side as Slenderman got near, cutting his throat open but moving on. Slenderman turned around, the slash in this throat, like all of his wounds, mysteriously vanished. Freddy grabbed another camera that was sitting on the girl’s dresser. “Ready for your close up?” he asked, and then snapped a photo.
Immediately Slenderman’s arms shot out to break the camera, but Freddy slashed them apart easily, laughing. “Keep ‘em coming! I’m just getting warmed up!” Freddy laughed, taking another photo. This time Slenderman moved into melee range, and Freddy took the advantage, no longer phased by his opponent’s speed. He quickly cut Slenderman’s arms off at the shoulder and then stabbed him in the face where his eyes should have been. “Not like you needed them anyway!” he laughed again. His laughter turned into a frustrated growl as he pulled his claws out only to see the wound he had just caused vanish before his eyes and that Slenderman’s arms had grown back.
“Why won’t you die!” he yelled, stabbing again. This time, though, Slenderman’s tentacle arms grabbed around Krueger’s right arm, locking it in place. Three more arms emerged from Slenderman’s back, one of which wrapped itself around and crushed the camera. The other two wrapped around Freddy’s neck and, the Springvale Slasher’s mouth agape with shock as this happened, pulled his head off of his shoulders.
Without a word the extra arms vanished, Freddy’s headless body dropping to the ground. Slenderman stepped over Kruger’s corpse and out into the hallway, where he turned and vanished from sight of the room. The night air was quiet and still after that, the girl’s corpse having completely bled out over her now red-soaked covers. Freddy’s hat lay on the floor by the door and time ticked on.
The hat that was picked up a claw-gloved hand after what felt like hours yet no time at all had passed.
Freddy Kruger chuckled.
If there's any confusion: Slenderman won, I just figured I'd factor in Freddy's immortality in typical horror movie suprise-ending fashion. Once again the victor was determined by votes, despite the fact I see Freddy as having a greater chance to win. A flaw in the system or not, it was still a good fight.

Freddy would win. I am still spooked by him by all the traumatizing done to me when I was a child through my older brothers and sisters.
Instead of them choosing to being publicly afraid, they picked on me and teased me so they wouldn't look bad
Yep....I still can't watch nightmare on elm street.....

I guess when push comes to shove like that, Slendy really just HAS to get aggressive eventually. Still seems a little out of character though.

I was under the impression that it wasn't that Freddy needed to be feared by said person but that multiple people needed to fear and know of him. That's why they had all those people locked up in the clinic giving them meds that made them have dreamless sleeps because they couldn't be forced to forget about Freddy. The more people that know of him and fear him the more powerful he is. Shown in the scene where he tries to kill the girl in Freddy vs Jason, but the hand just passes through her. Not enough people remembered him enough to fear him therefore he didn't have the power he needed to actually physically harm them in their dreams. He could only freak them the hell out.
So this entire fight wouldn't be dependent on whether Slenderman feared him, it would be dependent on whether the fight took place in a world that knew of Freddy and feared him. Even if one person feared Freddy, it wouldn't be enough. He needs the fear of multiple individuals.

First, I have to say that this is an awesome idea for a topic. Kudos, Morec.
If they were to meet in the real world, a la
Freddy vs. Jason
, Slender would win. He's much more capable in a real-world environment than they've ever shown Freddy to be, at least to my knowledge anyway, which admittedly doesn't go very far. But, if they were to meet in a dreamscape, Freddy would win, I think. It seems like he'd have much more power to alter Slender's perceptions, and in doing that he'd be able to win.

It's also two years old XD
But yeah, Slender was decided to be the winner, since while in the moral world Freddy would be mortal (ish) and Slender seems to be just as paranormally based with the mind as him.
Still, having this necroed (while I was thinking of continuing this series, no less XD) does make me want to continue it... Probably sometime in the coming week I'll start on another analysis.

How about Darth Vader vs. Gandalf the White?
