Unable to resync from the Armory error for new character

I'm having a problem with a new character I created yesterday (10th April 2011). I can find the character on the EU Armory so I know the character exists on there, the WoWHead client has uploaded character data for the new character but the character does not appear in the list of my characters on my User Page!
But when I try to use the WoWHead Profiler to find the character I always get:
Kysara of Nordrassil
This character was partially retrieved, so a full Armory resync has been requested.
Unable to resync from the Armory: The Armory could not be reached. Try resyncing this character again.
I click on the "resyncing" link and I'll see a "Fetching character now..." message but then I get the "Unable to resync from the Armory: The Armory could not be reached. Try resyncing this character again." message yet again! I've checked some of my other characters and they all resync with the Armory without any problems! It's just this new character that I'm trying to claim to add to my list of characters, I've been trying for over 24 hours now and I'm wondering if there's some sort of problem on WoWHead's side of the process.
Anyone know or have any ideas on what the problem might be?

Still getting this error! When I view the character on Blizzard's EU Armory I've tried clicking on the WoWHead link right underneath where it says "View this character on:" and I still get an "Unable to resync from the Armory:" message!
I'm starting to think that whatever the problem is, it's on WoWHead's end of things, and it appears as if WoWHead staff are simply ignoring any threads about Armory resync problems! The WoWHead client is uploading all character data, including this new character, so what's happening with that data? Why can't I find my new character on WoWHead?

Well my new character has now joined my list of characters although when I cursor over the name the tooltip shows a "Profile not found :(" message! Selecting the character to view just gives a new page with the "Unable to resync from the Armory:" message!

We're currently investigating this issue, it seems focused on EU characters so we'll see where that leads.

i recently had trouble syncing a character of mine that was still 80 (and mostly untouched) since cataclysm. to get it to work i had to log into the character, in-game, and back out again. however, in my case i couldn't view an armoury page for the character either so (though i'm EU based) it may not be related.

Nice to know that this is a known issue and is being investigated. Little bit of extra info, in case it may be of use, while I sometimes get the "Unable to resync from the Armory: The Armory could not be reached. Try resyncing this character again." message I usually get the "Unable to resync from the Armory: undefined. Try resyncing this character again." message.

So, 9 days since I posted about this error with the WoWHead Profiler, 5 days since the "We're currently investigating" reply, but the error is still happening and there's apparently no further info as to what's happening with the "investigation"!
Getting a new error message today:

I got that error every time for 10 resync attempts, after that I stopped trying.
Why does this error only seem to be affecting my newest character? I've checked all 22 of my characters and the 21 older characters all resync with the Armory without any problems but my newest character just cannot seem to resync with the Armory no matter how many times I try!

You're talking about a small number of people with a lot to do and limited time in which to do it. Fewyn has said that it's being investigated and you can be sure that they want this issue fixed just as much, if not more, than you do.
Give them time to pin down the problem.

I do fully understand that there's a small number of people with lots to do and limited time and resources etc, etc. But it would be nice to get an occasional update as to what's happening! Do they need more info from users? Are they having problems locating the cause?

Forum replies do not equal work done. Different issues require differing amounts of interaction with the wider community to fix and different amounts of feedback to pin down the cause. In this case it may be that they know the problem so they don't need you to give more information on the issue but it may be a particularly complicated problem to solve.
It's being worked on, what more is there to say?
In the meantime, if the problem you're encountering is seriously hindering you in some way then perhaps we could help you find a workaround?

Hmm. This new error message can be useful. I have similar problem from the same time. Last time I've checked my pala in WoW Armory, it uses far too deprecated character picture, despite of all new items correctly listed. So it is possibly not Wowhead but Armory problem.
For me it's not an Armory problem.

*sigh* I really don't want to get into any sort of debate as to the workings of the site or how the team has more work to do than they can handle! Whatever's happening, whether they know the cause or not, whether they're having problems nailing down a solution or they need more info or whatever, those of us who are getting this error have no idea as to what's going on because no-one is telling us anything!
I guess the easiest thing all round is for me to just forget about this and simply check my character every day or so to see if anything decides to work. As such I've edited my previous posts to remove negative comments and therefore, hopefully, prevent any further issues regarding my thoughts on how the WoWHead team are handling this particular error.

The newest character of mine (now level 62) that is not working on wowhead does also have a black / silhouette image on the armoury, though the stats and items listed are correct. My other characters, including older but lower level chars and ones that i have played recently, that show up with the normal coloured image on the armoury work fine on wowhead.
So given that and the new more detailed error message on wowhead, I'd guess that's part of the problem. If its an armoury issue rather than a wowhead one, would it be possible to simply stop requesting the model image for characters that are erroring? Its the stats that im more interested in, as i suspect most people are, and they are fine on the armoury.

The both of my characters can't synchronize with armory last few days:

In the both cases I receive only "Failed to fetch character model". Two days ago the synchronization didn't work, but I got another error (I forget which one)

By the link to the Armory above I see proper list of items, but only a dark silhouette without weapons in hands instead of normal character picture. Is it ok for you?
Have you played any of your other characters after this problem occured?
That's what I see, I honestly hadn't bothered with the Armory since before Blizzard "merged" it into the main website and I hadn't thought to check any of my other characters on the Armory as none of those are giving any error on WoWHead! So, having read your comment I've now checked all 22 of my characters on the EU Armory, the older 21 characters all display the character with their weapons, etc, 20 of those appear to be correct, but my other character on Nordrassil shows the correct items in the slots but the picture is of the character from about 2 weeks ago!
So maybe this does indeed indicate that the error is actually coming form the Armory itself and not from WoWHead.

Basically this error is on Blizzard's end with the XML feed, we aren't able to collect some needed data to update the profile. :(

Looks like Blizzard have fixed the issue, not sure when they did but the character I'd been having problems with is now syncing with the Armory without any errors!
