so are you saying that you want the news to be more promptly updated or are you saying that you don't want Rift to be mentioned on Wowhead at all?
it sounds like you think the latter but are trying to use the former as your reason for the opinion.
if you think the news ought to be updated faster then you should probably say that and you might get a response regarding your issue.
if you don't want to see Rift in the news feed then you should feel free to ignore those items. i assure you they are relevant to a lot of Wowhead visitors even if it may not seem like it from your own point of view.
if you think the two are linked (Rift news items leads to less WoW news items) then i think you're barking up the wrong tree and are actually just expressing the usual fanboy/hater behaviour that seems to follow any MMO release these days.
the patch 4.1 news items were prompt and thorough.

While both MMO-C and WoW Insider have news about patch 4.1, Wowhead has news about, er, Rift.
The reason we were a little late with patch 4.1 was that when it came out many of us weren't at the computer (or, in my case, sleeping). We are taking steps that hopefully will allow us to post new patch news much quicker in the future.
I can assure you though that the Rift blog posts don't influence in any way when the wow ones are posted.. So if you don't like them you can just not read them. =)(##RESPBREAK##)2##DELIM##Koper##DELIM##

People have been telling him that for weeks Koper.

In what way is news about Rift relevant to
Wow
head readers? There are plenty of sites about Rift, even Zam has one which is what today's article is all about, and if anyone is interested in Rift then they'd go there for news. Posting stuff about Rift on Wowhead is blatant advertising, something many of us paid not to see.
If you don't like it, don't read it?
Nothing and nobody is forcing you to read it, you're just making a mountain out of a molehill.
That, or you like complaining about silly little things.
I'm going to use your logic now.
Off-Topic isn't related to WoW, and this website is called
Wow
head, so delete Off-Topic forum please!

the release of a major new MMO on the market is important for all players of other MMO games. as i said, you might not recognise that personally but that doesn't make it not so.
there's a fine line between advertisement and relevant discussion on the internet but the post that so offended you is, if it's advertising anything, advertising another fan site rather than the game.
further to that you could say that Wowhead advertises WoW. it certainly plays a part in WoWs popularity that Blizzard would be foolish to misunderstand but the relationship between a fan site and the game to which it pertains is far more complicated than "advertising".
a serparate but related point is that you could say that Wowhead wouldn't have been linking off to Zam sites like the Rift one before Wowhead became a part of the Zam network, you might take exception to Wowhead "advertising" Zam sites at all. but that could be countered by saying that Wowhead now has the ability to present its visitors with similar info for other games in which they may be interested.
the deeper discussion of advert vs. article really boils down to the question of: is the release of a major new MMO
today
"news"?
well, it really is even if it's news in which you have no interest.

We're sensitive to this concern as we've heard it before and we want to make sure we post relevant news to our users. We have plans on highlighting the WoW posts more and reducing the footprint our other news has on our blog page while still showing it on the list.
As Koper pointed out, WoW news is the most important news to us. We'll never post other news in lieu of WoW news.

I don't mind it but I definitely see his point, it would be nice if "off-topic" blog posts went to off-topic. But I haven't bought premium and don't mind the ads, be they banners, sidebars, or blog posts :)

This is basically because all blog-posts go to "WoW General" by default, and has to be moved manually to other forums - which is usually done within not too long.

And for the record, my first 4.1 post came out 6 minutes after this thread was made. :(

I still find it amusing that he goes on and on about Premium....yet, the Premium feature is paid to ZAM, not Wowhead, so if ZAM wants RIFT blogs, it will have RIFT blogs.

And I find it amazing you haven't been banned from Wowhead but hey ho. And I'm pretty sure I signed up to premium long before it joined ZAM, though of course might be mistaken. Either way, the killer for me was to 'not have ads', only now they're being blogged at us.
Adamsm is indeed correct. See these two blog-posts:
Introducing ZAM.com!
(03/02/2009) and
Introducing Premium
-blog (07/22/2009). Premium have always been done via ZAM.
I believe the rest of your post has been adressed in several different ways earlier throughout the thread.

I agree with Hoddie...
However, i understand that you may not be able to cover new patches right away, but why are rift even being advertised on the front page? It's okay that you may be a little behind with covering new patch notes, but i think that rift being advertised on wowhead, is just misplaced.
a serparate but related point is that you could say that Wowhead wouldn't have been linking off to Zam sites like the Rift one before Wowhead became a part of the Zam network, you might take exception to Wowhead "advertising" Zam sites at all. but that could be countered by saying that Wowhead now has the ability to present its visitors with similar info for other games in which they may be interested.
Maybe ZAM should consider where to advertise what... I don't mind ZAM advertising rift... It just doesn't make sense when they are advertising rift on wowhead too...
At some point, i don't care how much zam are being paid for advertising rift, it just doesn't belong on WOWhead... I'am here for WoW news, WoW forums, WoW item info and so on... rift got nothing to do with wow...
I don't read the news about rift, but I still don't want to look at them on WOWhead.. that's simply not why i'am even here.... I'am here for WOWhead, not rift... But that's just my opinion...
Flame on!
