Black Walker hissed and clomped its way into the city of Kharanos. The buildings were run down and destroyed, and the roads were in serious need of repair. The walker plowed right through it all, hardly stopping for even the deepest holes.
“Be prepared you lot!” roared Korsin. “They’ll be here soon, don’t you be worryin’.” Gorgron kept an uneasy eye out from atop the walker as they strode through the once vibrant cluster of culture and life, now a deserted wasteland. “How’d they topple this city so fast? It was barely three days…” murmured Gorgron.
Avery turned to face the orc. “The dwarves were ill prepared. The only reason they held out for three days was because of their natural warrior instincts, such as yours. If it had been anyone else, except perhaps the Worgen or the orcs, they would have fallen in a day, maybe less.”
Gorgron’s eyebrows contracted. “A day?” he asked doubtfully. “I hardly think tha-“ A shadow flashed from the nearest building, catching Gorgron across the chest and yanking him from the top of the walker. “We’re under attack!” bellowed Elsoris, firing an arrow and catching a shadow in midair, knocking it from the sky. “Get the emplacements going!”
Korsin hit a button on the dashboard, and all seven guns, three on each side and one on the back, started firing, utilizing gnome tracking devices. The shadow things screamed, falling backwards away from the walker.
Avery grabbed his staff and hopped off the side to where he had seen Gorgron fall. A burst of flame and a wash of air showed him that the Shaman wasn’t out of the fight, but as the orc came into sight, he saw it was a close thing.
Murmuring under his breath, Avery held his staff forward, and several bars of light flowed from it, throwing the creatures off of the orc. Gorgron stood up unsteadily, and refused the priests offer of aid. “Just get back to the walker!” he said, and followed his own advice, running for the great contraption.
Avery quickly shielded both himself and the orc, ignoring the others protests, and started climbing the ladder. Gorgron followed and soon both were atop the machine, and in the protection of the guns. “Get below!” yelled Elsoris, firing with inhuman accuracy at the shadow things.
Avery descended the stairs, followed by Gorgron, who slumped against a wall as soon as they were below and slid down it, flopping on the ground. The wound on his left shoulder, which previously had been a shallow but long gash, was now purple and yellow. The blood had clotted thick and black.
Avery winced at the sight. “Let me see that,” he said quietly. Gorgron shook his head, and then grunted in pain. “That was an order, orc.” Gorgron acquiesced, and Avery came forward. His hand started to glow white, and he ran his hand along the Shaman’s cut, which started to turn green.
Elsoris ran down the stairs two at a time, and slammed the door into the lower compartments. Immediately, several deep clangs and a roar of pain echoed from the other side. “Damn things keep coming,” the elf informed them. Korsin glanced back. “And that’s not even what got th’ town…” he called out.
The last of the shadow things fell back, and were cut down by the guns. A sudden silence settled over them. “Not what toppled the town?” Gorgron asked incredulously. Korsin shook his head. “Aye, it wasn’t them.” Elsoris fixed the dwarf with a skeptical look. “I bloody saw them myself!” Korsin yelled, steering the walker past the remnants of Kharanos and out into the road.
Elsoris shook his head and leaned against the wall. Avery, finished with his healing prayers, stood up, and Gorgron laid back down, and started murmuring favors of the elements.
“We’re past th’ biggest obstacle to our goal gentlemen. Next stop, Ironforge.”

Author's notes:
1. Along with the food and medicine, there is ale.
2. Writing part 3 as we speak.
3. I'm going for a new villain in this. Hopefully it is something unique. The Shadow Things were basically just the shadow beasts that Shadow Priests can summon.
4. ty for all the support =D
