Besides the already stated issue with it being unique-equipped, we are also looking at the false assumption that lots of hp = Good tanking.
Go back to the Wrath Dungeons noob. You obviously have no idea what you are talking about.
I'm a main-specced healer, and I hate noob tanks who do nothing but stack stamina. Whenever I see the occasional idiot with 170k hp, I instantly facepalm, and brace myself for epic fail - which ALWAYS ensue. They have tons of hp, but no avoidance, and die like flies. They assume healers have infinite mana, and can throw heals equal to 70 % of their total hp, which is plain wrong.

Though I do agree with you mostly, this trinket has its uses. On a fight with a lot of magic damage, all that avoidance won't do jack. It helps to have a bigger buffer then.
Also: All that stam will end you up with higher vengeance (about 500AP), meaning higher damage/threat. (Though threat really isn't a concern at the moment)
As a general rule of thumb: Mastery > anything (especially at this point in the game)
True about magic damage, but the vengeance buff is pointless, as you stated yourself.
Even with no more than 130k hp, and that's before I started heroics as my off-specced tank, I tanked all of The Vortex Pinnacle Normal, forgetting Righteous Fury (Because I had gotten myself killed, trying to grab a note before an Alliance player :P), I had
no
threat issues,
at all
through the whole instance. Threat is a joke. Blizzards statement that they wanted threat to be more of an issue is, quite simply, laughable. With RF activated, I rarely see people go above 50 % threat, compared to me. And that would be Frost DKs.
Gearing for threat is wasted. Gearing for dps, can be a bit useful to complete the dungeons faster - but as a general rule, mitigation should come first, which is by far Mastery.
Tps and Dps might be the same, but don't confuse the two: Gearing for TPS means you want to hold threat, while gearing for DPS means you want to dish out a world of hurt on your enemies.

Threat isn't typically an issue right now because we don't typically have DPS capable of challenging our threat output. A group full of well-geared DPS will creep up on you easily. No, we don't currently have threat problems, but this isn't a design flaw. Once DPS start getting geared, start getting used to the mechanics of the encounter, and in some cases of their classes, we'll start seeing them challenging us more often.

The armor on cata trinkets is so little compared to wotlk and I'm still trying to figure out why.
That's fixed on the PTR. Apparently the formulas changed but they haven't subjected the Wrath trinkets to the new one yet.

I'm thinking of using my
Unidentifiable Organ
along with the stam trinket from stonecore, but I do have the crab from TotT and heart of thunder.

Assuming those 3 trinkets (+ the green stam trinket from questing, which i forgot its name), which 2 would you use?Crab is considered BiS from heroics and 2nd BiS including 359 trinkets (Worm > Crab > Vial).

Im using the Porcelain Crab from TotT and the Symbiotic Worm from Magmaw...the crab seems to proc alot, at least half of the time i look at my buffs, it is procced...and for 20 seconds is a huge proc. If both these trinkets pop together...it puts me just over the 102.4 avoidance threshold, meaning that every attack that isn't dodged or parried has to come through my shield, giving my healers the slack they need to get me back up to health while I WoG my butt off.
As for macros(Kyonu)...I've found it's helpful to macro my Divine Protection with my Ardent Defender, and I leave that macro on my sidebar along with Ancient Kings and Divine Protection. This leaves me with a wide array of damage reduction options: 20%, 40%, 70%, or 90%.
As a general rule of thumb, I use Divine Protection as often as possible unless it's a particular situation where i need to reserve it.
If it's a long fight against hard a hard hitting boss or multiple mobs and I need to space out the damage reduction, I can alternate between the 3(using the macro after DP only gives me the 20% from AD but I don't have to click a different button) like so: 20% 50% 40% or 20% 20% 50%.
If I get hit by burst damage, although rare because of my high block, but regardless, I have the option of hitting both kings and the macro for 90% damage reduction, or I can hit kings and DP for 70% damage reduction and save the AD on my macro for when those run out or my health continues to drop rather than get topped off.
I've found with DP and AD macro'd together and the 3 options on the toolbar, you can easily hit any CD's you want on the fly at any potency or longevity you desire...Sorry to go off topic for so long.
