I will be live streaming during the release of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm to fund raise and promote awareness of Lupus. Lupus affects someone very close to me and I thought to myself, why not stream what I will be doing anyways with my time off? The great thing is all funds raised will be matched by my employer!

Well, what is Lupus then?Taken from
http://www.lupuscanada.orgLupus is a chronic disease with a variety of symptoms caused by inflammation in one or more parts of the body. Lupus is not contagious and is not related to AIDS or cancer. It belongs in the family of diseases that includes rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, juvenile diabetes, and scleroderma.
To my immediate family member, who has chronic Lupus with frequent flares and no remissions, this is what they go though on a regular basis:• Sleep is non restorative every night. Constant restlessness as well as waking up every few hours to pain.
• When the day starts, pain can vary from 1-2 joints to all joints. Muscle pain occurs also in same areas; sometimes in unrelated muscle groups as well.
• Simple tasks that normal taken for granted are now planned out around the amount of energy, pain for that day
• During the day, any physical activity can result in swelling of the fingers and ankles.
• Hands and feet become cold and stay cold.
• When outside, all exposed skin must be covered or protected to prevent further increasing rashes. Because of these rashes, you are looked upon differently.
• Glands under the jaw and neck become swollen. Sore throats, headaches and hot/cold periods occur regularly.
• When out in public, being aware of people with a cold or the flu is mandatory due to a weakened immune system.
• Long walks, bike riding, camping are all only memories now and there is no hope of those activities coming back.
So all funds raised will go towards Lupus Canada?All funds you donate will go directly to Lupus Canada.
