Every time you tap that macro, you're going to join the channel and immediately leave it. From your original post, I thought you wanted a macro that would let you join the channel.

It should be:
/leave worlddefense
/join worlddefense
if anything.
Same thing as with mount macros, where you can put 'dismount' before the actual cast so if you're able to dismount it will dismount.
