What is it like to fly up high,
to sore genteelly through the air.
To the reaches of the light blue sky,
and float through clouds without a care.
Is the air hot like the fields in summer?
or cold like rivers in spring?
Do the colors stand out, like in Autumn?
and does Winter change everything?
Oh, how I wish I could carelessly fly.
and discover these things that I wish
to explore the unknown worlds of the sky,
as seen through the eyes of a fish.
Alright; show me what you've got.

This is just some random scribble No rhymes, no metrics. I won't feel offended if anyone calls me bad at writing English or whatever.
As I gaze upon the stars,
It seems that after a while
I realize how silly, petty
Mankind's matters, problems
Are to the infinity of the universe.
What is the heat of a fire which we
Learned to tame hundreds of thousands,
Maybe even millions of years ago,
Compared to the fiery heart of a newly born sun?
What is the arctic stinging cold
In the most desolate places of Earth
Of maybe like around a hundred
Degrees of Farenheit
Compared to the eternal coldness
Imbuing the vast void of the outer space?
Human life reaches upwards to
Maybe like ten decades
While the universe lives itself in a
Matter of myriads of years.
And yet we can console ourselves
With the bitter, sweet and short
Experiences of life.
If you were dulled, unable to
Conceive a joyous feeling,
Or just deep fatigue and melancholy,
You would just feel one singular void.
And the wonderful opposite is even
Moreso powerful.
When you are in the right mood,
Be it sanguine elation
Or silent exhilaration,
You feel you could embrace the sun,
Envelop in your arms.
The universe shrinks,
You could take it all in your heart.

I could have sworn we had this exact thread a couple months ago.
We did. And I'm actually pretty sure we had another a couple of months before that.

Did not know we had another one,
Mind my stupidity then.
Have a nice day everyone!

Well, since the two linked threads have a different purpose in the title, I suppose this one is justified in existing. Anyway...
I decided to give the sonnet form a shot, and make it poetic at that, AND have it involve WoW and the Naaru. I have no idea what I've been smoking.
By the way, it doesn't really follow the classical rhythm, because it was too much of a restriction for getting the ideas across.
The light that shone at the dawn of the world,
a radiant beacon of power pure,
that rivals even what the Titans hurled,
such beings that will the eons endure.
The Naaru, strong beyond imagining,
creatures of a stellar magnificence.
They have, however, a secret frightening -
a darker side of grave significance.
They pay great price for immortality,
for, exhausting one's holy energy,
turns it to a void in reality,
of the darkness - a twisted prodigy.
And the Naaru cycle runs forever,
of the Light and darkness bound together.
Interesting fact, I somehow balanced the light/dark parts 50/50, the last 2 lines referring to both. No, really, I have no idea what I've been smoking.
Ninja edit to actually spell it Naaru. I'm too young to be forgetting major Warcraft lore ...

I used to write a crapload of poems when I had my heartbroken two years ago. Now I just don't have the motivation.
I know how you feel, I had a girl-friend leave me and I stopped writting for a year or so... got back into the swing of things when someone who I've known for years said yes to a date... Couldn't be happier at the moment.

Just a little thing to remember WotLK....
The Sun rose, the morning came.
The Heroes marched, sharing skill and name.
It was twelve AM, when the boats sailed in.
We sailed into hell, where we'd already been.
We stood as one, Champions of the light,
We feared not the Scourge, as we were ready to fight.
They came in armies, both risen and damned,
But we never gave in, we continued to stand.
The nights were long, and the food was sour.
The weather was cold, getting worse by the hour.
I remember Wintergrasp, and the battles that tolled,
We fought tooth and nail, for the fortress to hold.
I remember a Basin, a land green and lush,
And my little blue friends, who dug a little too much.
I remember Ulduar, and the Siege of my life,
I also remember Algalon... he caused a bit of strife.
I fought in the coliseum, for glory and honor,
But all we found was a bug, which we soon made a goner.
Then came Icecrown, the throne of Ice and Death,
Those battles were so cold... one could even see his breath.
We fought the undead, through the mighty tower of ice.
We fought them without end, many did it twice. (Ok, about 30 times...)
Then we meet the King, holding our lord captive.
I'm surprised Bovar lives, he truly is adaptive.
We struck the final blow, and watched the helm fall.
Frostmourn was shattered, that's when we heard the call.
From Azeroth arose, our next and fiery battle,
A dragon named Neltharion, he caused quite a rattle.
Then without a warning, the Cataclysm hit,
I stood with my guild thinking one thing:
"Oh, $%^&...."
