Most Beautiful Places in WoW
Return to board index
This thread has been made in different forms, such as, only in vanilla wow, but this is more general, and is a simple question. What, in your opinion, is the most beautiful place in wow? It could be beautiful because of the pristine feel to it, or the gothic feel to it, whatever.
IMO its probably valgarde in central howling fjord. It is at the bottom of an awesome cliff, with a waterfall behind it, it is constantly under siege by vyrkul to give it that warry feel, and the occasional river boat that leads out to sea just perfects it. Runner up would probably be the entrance to stormwind with all the statues there, Blizz really did a nice job with stormwind.
For me Feathermoon Stronghold is the most serene, isolated area. Great place to collect your thoughts. if Trade chat was enabled in all areas, I would just sit there all day.
For a great overall zone, Howling Fjord is the most impressive. Exactly the type of music you would expect and awesome contrast in the huge overlooks.
There are a lot of places.
The trees in Grizzly Hills, Hellfire Penninsula from the moment you pass through the portal, sitting atop a floating rock in Nagrand, Looking towards the sea from Howling Fjord.
People say that WoW has poor graphics, but I think the landscape, especially OL and NR, has a sort of beauty towards it. If WoW has poor graphics, then its in the small models and doodads, not the landscapes.
Azshara and Crystalsong.
So quiet, so serene.
Azuremyst isle like the others said beautiful landscape and the music is just icing on the cake. One of the reasons i rolled a squidface as my first char, also only race for alliance that i could play as a shaman back in the late stages of bc.
I love the cave in Un'Goro with all the crystals, it's gorgeous. I also love Nagrand. Most stunning zone in WoW in my opinion.
Almost every zone I've been in has been beautiful. Some of the big ones were Winterspring, Nagrand, Howling Fjord, Grizzly Hills, and Un'Goro Crater.
I think WoW has some of the best landscapes out there, from what I've seen.
Maraudon struck me as a pretty instance. The constant green theme of nature throughout the instance was so beautiful. The waters weren't even that bad, as I remember that fish boss. I speak of the wing in which Therazane dwells.
Wow is a game with a lot of nice landscapes. I would hired the person who design them to do my landscaping if I can afford it.
My 5 favs in random order:
1. Ashenvale. I remember there's a waterfall there and the darkness and the trees make it look so beautiful.
2. The Emerald Shire (Dragonblight, very surpriese no one mentioned this). It's just so beautiful and green and the flowers are pretty. I can sit all day there.
3. Grizzly Hills. One of my favourit place to level.
4. Storm Peaks. I know it's an odd choice but I love the way the mountains can look and I can fly there for hours just looking at it.
5. Nargard. Safari lover's favourite
2. Scholoyar Basin
3. Griyylz Hills
4. Cave in Ungoro crater
Ill add more later
I really enjoy Winterspring, Hinterlands,Howling Fjord and and Thousand Needles. I think it's cool standing way up there on the lifts and seeing that view.
I'm surprised no ones mentioned Zangarmarsh yet. Having said that I agree with all of the zones above.
Howling Fjord, by far. It's a shame everyone quests in Borean Tundra.
When I first saw the Maraudon waterfall - I had to stop and stare for a while. It was awesome.
I also remember sitting on a beach in Darkshore, and watching a sunrise or sunset (can't remember which one). That was pretty relaxing.
Nagrand and Howling Fjord.
The Grizzly Hills gets my vote. the music there is equally beautiful (fiddle duet)
Zul'Gurub gets my vote.
Zul'Gurub gets my vote.
Anyway, I liked Grizzly Hills, Storm Peaks, and Nagrand. I don't like Blade's Edge Mountains, Hellfire Peninsula, and Zangarmarsh.
Icecrown sucks! That was the most dull zone of Wotlk to me
Grizzly Hills, from the moment my character stepped foot there, I always thought it was beautiful. And I always said if it was possible to choose a zone to actually live in, it would be my home.
And then last year july 7th 2009, my brother passed away, the last place he was playing in was grizzly hills. So not only do I believe its a beautiful zone, to me it has meaning.
