Discipline Priest Guide (3.3.5)
Return to board index
We had an old Priest who just came back to the game and who felt like
QQing his heart out
on this forum about how new Priests are globally inept, nowadays and while his post was anything but constructive, the man still had a point. .
If I remember right, his post got locked for being "to grumpy."
Necro styling here because I haven't ventured into the great abyss of Wowhead in a while, but anyways...
FINALLY A GODDAMNED DECENT DISCO GUIDE!
I was considering writing one up myself, and I don't even play the thing.
IED is overbudgeted. This argument is very tired. If you're not using IED, you are either doing it wrong, are in full 277s, or are not doing challenging content. That's all there is to it.
While your argument is good in theory, the one problem with this is that random drops are random, and corrupt loot councils are corrupt. I have
. If I had
I'd switch to IED in a second. But I don't, so I can't.
As it stands, the only fight I have mana problems on is BQL, and that's fixed for the price of 1 mojo flask, and a quick switch back to a frost wyrm flask afterwards.
The funny thing about those 2 metas is that towards the end of every WotLK content patch Ember has started to hold its own against IED. Right before Uld dropped and people were rolling with their BiS Naxx 213s Ember was a viable choice. Same thing happened right before ToC, with raiders in their 226s sprinkled with a few Uld HM 239s. And again before ICC, I saw quite a few ToGC geared players had switched to Ember. ICC is now winding down and we are there again.
IED is one the best metas available and probably should be the only one seriously considered for a new-to 80 Disc priest. A well geared toon however may have other needs/wants that can open up the choices a bit. Personally, I use the Ember.
Been looking for a guide like this. Thanks for the necro, donnymurph. :)
I'm so pro at necro, I should race-change to undead and lose my 25% replenishment bonus.
And call me Donny.
