"Greetings,
We are writing to inform you that we have, unfortunately, had to cancel your World of Warcraft account:
Account Name: *****
Type of Violation: Involvement in online trading activities"
Okay, in my 3 years of playing WoW I have never had a perma, I would never buy or sell gold due to the risk to my account, so I have no idea why I was banned.
It was literally 10 minutes ago I was banned, I was farming crystallized fire for about 30 mins then disconnected, then I am banned, what the hell?
I've already sent them an email by webform explaining my predicament, how long can I expect to wait for a reply, and do you think I will be unbanned? Because I swear to god I didn't buy or sell gold, and I have an authenticator so nobody can access my account and do that without me knowing.
What's wrong with Blizzard? Seems like they ban a lot of the innocent these days, and have you ever had a perma and been unbanned?

Are you sure it will take a long time? It's 4 am here and I'll call them later today, with any luck I'll have an email from them when I wake up.
The only reason I can think why I was banned is because my guild transferred realms today, you're only allowed to have 20k gold when you transfer, so my guild master gave me 4600 gold to take with me when I transfer over, when I finished transferring I traded it back to him.

That's probably it. Blizzard keeps track of gold very, very closely.

Well to be honest if I
was
purchasing gold, why the hell would I be farming crystallized fire? I wonder if the whole guild is banned because pretty much everyone took 10k+ from him, we have over 500k gold in our guild bank.

Explain to Blizz what happened either on the phone or through an e-mail; they should sort it out. Occasionally they will give you game time for the inconvenience, but don't expect it.
One of my RL friends got perma'd once (seemingly for no reason), after sending an E-Mail to blizz they cleared it up fairly promptly.

My cousin said he got banned for saying this in trade chat:
"Everytime you say something stupid Chuck Norris roundhouse kicks a baby in the face."
Lol.

Well, got my account back, it was because I was using a proxy to access WoW, ever heard of lowerping.com?
It works, and I've been using it for almost a year,
now

Proxy's like lowerping will set off an alarm because your account looks as if it is being accessed by different people from many different places. It is a common reason for having an account suspended. As for what now, Im not sure if there is a way for Blizz to isolate your account from getting flagged for using the service. I know it is not a violation, but not sure if they can guarantee you that it wont happen again in the future.

going to call them and see if they can isolate my account to use the service

Heh... "Involvement in online trading activities"... got banned for that TWICE before, and I'm sure I'll be banned again with the same reason.
Sometimes, once in a midsummer day, I get the urge to farm stuff like mad. I start a good audiobook series in Winamp, get on my mount, and farm ore, herbs, and eternals until my books are over.
My guild master sells all the stuff that I don't keep for myself and we split the earnings, because I like to farm but not to lurk around the AH and sell stuff. I can get up to 20k in a few days, and he mails the gold to me normally.
The fact that 5-8k gets mailed to someone at once automatically flags that account for gold buying. No investigation, just a countdown. After the countdown is over, the ban hammer strikes. Last time it took one and a half weeks for blizz to do a proper "investigation", that is to say they actually checked who sent the gold, and the account was returned.
You'd think that after banning an account for a system oversight they'd actually flag that account as "crazy farmer dude" but nooooo... let's cut a week or so from his play time for the hell of it.

Just curious though, what department did you call to restore it? Officially only by using a webform can you ask for an account to be restored.
