What if you delete your totems?

You can't delete them, the game won't let you. If you put them in your bank, you won't be able to cast any totem spells.
What you can do is a
quest
to trade them all in for an
equippable totem
. This equippable totem is deletable, and if you decide you want it back, you just talk to the NPC again.

This is false. You can keep your totems in your bank and still be able to put up them lovely totems.
UM....false.
If you do not have a totem equipped in your relic slot -OR- have the 4 you get from each totem quest in your inventory, you cannot cast a totem spell.

Umm....false. You are required to have neither your totems equipped nor the totem quest item in order to be able to cast totems. If you have all 4 totems sitting in the bank (not your bags) you can still cast totems.
How 'bout instead of spouting your mouth off you actually log on to your shaman and try it. If you don't have your totems in your
inventory
and don't have a totem
relic equipped
, you
can't
cast your totem spells. Totems are labeled as tools, just like your mining pick or skinning knife. Can you mine ore with a pick in your bank?
Exactly. If you have a totem in your relic slot (such as
Venture Co. Lightning Rod
) you can cast the spells. Notice the flavor text, "Counts as an Air, Earth, Fire, and Water totem" - that allows you too without each elements totem OR the combo totem you get from the quest. Also notice
Wrath of Air Totem
, it says Tools: Air Totem. Unless you have A] the 4 element totems in your bags, B] the 4-in-1 you get from the combination quest, or C] a Totem in your relic spot
YOU CANNOT CAST TOTEM SPELLS.
