Whats the best shaman raiding spec?
Return to board index
What do you think is the best shaman raiding spec? and why?
Most people i talk to say to go resto and get earth shield natures swiftness and the extra mana from enh and do watever else u want. Which is really the best? and which is best for pvping and raiding, for people like me who do both.
If you wanted to do both, I would pick resto. Chain Heal makes healing a crowded raid pretty easy, and it's surprisingly mana efficient. It likewise helps in PvP too.
i gotta agree. groups/raids always need heals which shams excel at as resto. as far as pvp goes.......i dont wanna get started on how dirty resto shams are. so help me, if they even kinda know their class they are just about unkillable.
Resto is the easiest way to get PvE epics.
resto ofcourse (sadly..)
The best spec is the one you will enjoy most. Resto and Elemental are largely considered excellent for both PvP and Raiding, but that doesn't make enhancement a slouch spec in any way, shape or form.
Of the three trees, I would argue that enhancement is the most gear-dependant.
Resto = Absurdly durable; does little to no damage; incredible raid and PvP healers; phenomenal group support; capable kiters when necessary
Elemental = High-crit raiding damage; decent armor; excellent for raiding and great for PvP kiting - the bane of rogues everywhere.
Enhancement = Phenomenal raid buffers; spell interrupt and redirect kings (grounding totem), great spell / heal pushback and solid damage.
Shamans are one of the few classes where all 3 talent trees are definitely viable for raiding. Most classes are limited to 2 out of the 3 trees but a lot of endgame raids love elemental and enhancement shamans for their great group synergy.
shamans provide wonderful buffs to a caster group with the 41 pt. talent and other totems based around mana regen for shadow priests/ISB locks/fire mages.
Rogues and Fury warriors love
shamans because Windfury is arguably the best melee buff in PVE. It scales damage incredibly well and the other totems also help stabilize AOE damage as well as reducing threat for the group with Tranquil Air.
Resto shamans need no explanation, but if you're leveling a shaman, you should know that any tree is most definitely viable in a raid setting.
Can any of you link me a good resto or elemental build?
There's a thread at the top of the forums which addresses popular builds.
basically thats the elemental build i see most, take the last point in natures swiftness for pvp and totem of wrath for pve, althought from a pvp perspective it is considered better to take things such as elemental warding and elemental shields to add to your survivability rather than reducing the mana cost of spells imo. feel free to change as you see fit ofc.
