Thundurus stood with a crack of thunder knocking away the fel bolts and punched the ground sending a shockwave out around him tearing up the earth and sending shards flying out.
Salena threw her hands forward and a shield of fire formed before her to block the shards.
"Are you okay?" Clink asked looking at Richard as he stared blankly into the air. Suddenly he blinked and ran up the hill after Felicity.

Angrida
Hyjal
In a running jump Angrida leapt sideways over the shockwave, a pair of the stone shards burying themselves in her staff. Mid-flight she flung a dagger, the true danger to the elemental the magic-draining curse upon its blade rather than its physical edge.

Felicity stumbled when the shockwave rocked the earth but recovered quickly. She grabbed the lip of the cliff and pulled herself over, sword ready, her body singing with energy from the demon's concoction. But she knew it would not last, and must, therefore, seize the opportunity. She straightened, her voice ringing with command.
"Surrender Lupaine at once, creature!" she barked, brandishing her blade. The steel blazed, holy fire licking along its edge in a white hot glow.
The nether raised his head a fraction, baring his teeth in an approximation of a smile. "You came..." he murmured, glowing faintly in pleasure like a hill of rosy crystal.

Thundurus knocked the blade away flinching as the curse began to drain his energy. "Dam it." He spoke seeing the new arrivals and quickly reliesed the fight was shifting against him. "We'll meet again." He threw his arms up and unleashed a string of bolts in the air before he stepped back into the portal and it closed around him. Above the group the clouds began to darken and thunder rumbled.
Richard looked up at the clouds. "Those don't look friendly." He said before a bolt of lightning streaked from the sky and slammed into the ground beside the group. Before he could speak again another speared into a tree setting it ablaze.
Further down the mountain another portal opened and quickly grew. "Matriona." Thundurus called. "On your feet. We'll have to collect your mate another time." He said.

Felicity winced as the lightning seared the sky and blasted the ground. Without a moment to waste she rushed towards Lupaine.
At the end of a long gash of churned earth and stripped landscape, Matriona lay where she had crashed upon her back. Her underbelly bared to the sky, her legs prone above her. A bed of broken trees and the edge of the cliff held her in a mostly upright position as she stared at the sky. She bared her fangs and her eyes burned with red light.
"Oh. Wow," she gasped. "That was..." She shuddered in delight. With effort she rolled over, felling several more trees with a crash. Righting herself, she shook her head, but the dazed look remained as she lumbered about, favouring one of her legs. Her scales smoked and patches had been stripped revealing the pale flesh beneath, oozing a thick viscuous blood. She looked at the elemental vaguely. "Did you see it?" she gasped, voice hoarse and throaty. "Did you? Imagine," she breathed. "Imagine what our children will be like!"

"Good to know!"
- - -
In the forest there was no way to tell the time to such degree of precision as five minutes without a watch, which Kim possessed none, so the allotted amount of time could have been equally thought of as 'just a moment'. Nevertheless, 'just a moment' later the two humans sat on horseback ready to go, only missing their guide.

"At the current rate of the clouds gathering it is likely this is going to turn into a full thunderstorm." Clink said looking up at the clouds.
"Can you stand Lupaine?" Salena asked worriedly as she approached the dragon and paladin.
"That's all well and good but we don't have to dwell on that. The druid and harpy have gone missing and you're in no codition to keep fighting. It's time we retreate for now." Thundurus explained.

Lupaine's eyes flickered. "'M tired," he mumbled deeply.
"Hm? Oh. Yes. I guess. Sure." The Twilight gave a great shake of her body, sending glittering scales scattering about the clearing.

"I know." She said placing a hand on his snout. "I am to but we need to move just a little bit more then we can rest." She assured him.
Richard looked up when he heard the copter approaching from above and saw Clank piloting it. "I found the bandages but you all had left." He called.
"Doesn't matter right now. Storms rolling in." He called.

"We'll get him next time and then you can have all the kids you want." He told her as he stepped aside for her to enter the portal.

Sheathing the dagger in a fold in her leather robes, the woman made her way over to Lupaine and Felicity, her human guise upon her again.
Marius Marr, Mythris Oakencrescent
Ashenvale
Their guide took full advantage of the fact, returning approximately
ten
'five' minutes later leading a mottled grey nightsaber.
Marius gave the night elf a look that told her as much.
"Five minutes," Mythris winked.
"I do have a watch."
"Then you can buy a better one when we're done." She responded smoothly.

"Lupaine!" Felicity thundered suddenly. She delivered a stinging slap to the dragon's flank. Lupaine jolted, eyes flying open. "You are a dragon! My mount! I have ridden you into battle time and again! And I fully intend to continue.
"Now put your feet beneath you!"
Lupaine groaned and struggled to his feet. Felicity again struck the dragon's flank, a second flash of light radiating from her palm across the dragon's form like a ripple.
"Stand! Now march! Forward Lupaine! Walk!"
Lumbering, limping, the dragon began to make his way towards the edge of the rise and away from the storm.
"Of course I will," the twilight huffed as she laboriously made her way through the shimmering gate. "I'm Matriona."

Richard and Clink climbed into the copter as it hovered lower.
Salena jumped back from Lupaine as he stood and started to walk. "We'll need someplace safe to stay. How far do you think the rest of your forces were able to get?" She asked Felicity.

"Likely in the foothills," Felicity said as she hurried alongside the limping nether dragon. Her hand rested on his flank, urging him away from the storm swept plateau.

In the path, a single human stood, his cloak billowing in the wind as the group and their Dragon approached. Xander narrowed his eyes slightly.
"Looks like I'm not the only one having a bad day." He observed.
Lucien Greyfang, Vildrasha
Vash'jir
Lucien was swift, even within the water. Dropping from the shelf, he moved behind the ship, attempting to keep out of sight of the furious clash between Naga and Forsaken.
Vildrasha paused for a moment, her entire body tensed.
Like a machine, her neck snapped to the side, eyes wild as she scanned the battle below.

Richard kept the copter hovering over the group when he noticed the man standing in the road. "Should we shoot him?" Clank asked starting to grab the controls.
"Hold off." Richard replied looking over the side of the copter. "I don't think he's with the cultists."
Salena walked along the other side of Lupaine using him to support herself as the magic she was able to absorb from Jasmine started to fade when she noticed the man standing in the road. "Lucien?" She heart lept for a moment.

Felicity narrowed her eyes beneath her helm. "Either help or stand aside. There's not time to dally," she barked over the howling wind. As if to punctuate her words, a bolt of lightning seared from the sky and blasted a nearby boulder to rubble. Lupaine flinched as he dragged himself down the path.

Name:
Daveck Krauss
Location:
Northsire, Elwynn
The sun, as ever, shone down bright in Northshire valley.
Daveck Krauss walked under the shadow of the trees, idly beheading dandelions with his narrow stave. He had a slim build and wore light blue robes trimmed with white, its hem brushing the tall grass as he walked. His hood was down, leaving his curly brown hair to run rampant about his head. He was clean shaven, his face filled with a vague inward preoccupation as he walked. Around his neck, at the end of a cheap metal chain, was a small metal locket, the cheap sort of thing one might purchase from a wandering peddler. And across his shoulder was a satchel which contained all his worldly goods.
The air was full of summer warmth and the birds chirped in the trees. Daveck’s course was unerring, though he forged it through the rough grass and wild. In the distance could be seen the white stone of the abbey, climbing high with red tiled, sloping roofs. Stained glass shimmered in the windows, the daylight lending the stones almost a glow.
He paused suddenly and stared. Black smoke billowed into the sky.
He was running before he knew it. His heart hammered in his chest. His breath was ragged. In between each gasp he muttered “No. No.”
He reached the abbey in good time, his steps slowing when he saw the plumes of smoke did not rise from the austered building. No flames danced upon the roof or scorched its familiar stones. But there was a palpable tension in the air. Men and women were hurrying about. Many had the mark of adventurers, that curious class of people who frequently came to Northshire. Many orphans from the wars were sent here. It was quiet and safe, and many began an education among the monks.
As Daveck had. He suddenly put a hand to his breast pocket, feeling the black volume hidden in his robes. He liked the monks. The kindly men and women who ran the abbey. But he doubted they would have approved his reasons for going out alone.
He saw Sanna running past the abbey and towards the notice board. He raced forward, intercepting the flaxen haired girl.
“Sana! What happened?”
“Daveck!” She grabbed his arms and looked straight into his eyes. “Thank the Light! We were afraid…Are you alright?”
“Fine. Fine.”
“Where were you?”
Daveck reflexively reached for his pocket but quickly supressed the motion. Sana didn’t seem to notice. “Just reading. In the woods. What happened?”
Sana looked back to the milling people. “It’s the vineyards. They’re burning.”
Daveck’s brows shot up in surprise. “What! How?”
“Orcs,” Sana said. “The earthquake, it opened a pass through the mountains. Orcs poured through it and are in the vineyards. The heroes pushed them back but they’re still there.”
Daveck froze. He looked past her and towards the smoke. Yes. He could see it now. Past the trees and the narrow thread of the river, he could see the hellscape of fire and blackened earth that had been the abbey’s vineyard. Dark shapes danced among the blaze, wavering things.
Blood. Blood. The fires burned and people screamed.
Davecks hook himself. He glanced back at Sana. “What’s happening now?”
“There’s been a lull. Marshal McBride is sending adventurers to try and beat them back but it’s taking a while. And any minute they might cross the river again!”
“The pass,” Daveck said tightly. “Where does it open?”
“The...I...I dunno. Searing Gorge, I think." She tightened her hold on his robes. "Daveck, we’re being told to leave the valley until the army arrives to secure the pass.”
Daveck nodded, but he never looked from where the smoke trailed into the sky. “Right. Right. Thanks Sana. Thanks…”
They parted then, Daveck hurrying into the abbey, his brow low and fixed with purpose.
