Question is more: Who's body will the essence of Sargeras go to? After all, that's what happened to the Pantheon, they were sent to the Watchers. So, since it looks like in Nighthold the big plan falls, there has to be a back up somewhere out there.
Either that or it's going to go for something really out there, such as it turns out that the Alagon program is building new bodies for the Titans to be reborn into or Azeroth ends up as being the new prison host for the essence of the fallen one...or even more so; the death of Sargeras wakes up Azeroth completely, allowing Her to become the forefront of the new Titan Pantheon while we little insects flail around to set up on a new world.

Maybe it's that Titans are only truly vulnerable when they have no physical host? We know that they can die when they're still World-Souls, which means that they don't have a divine form. Maybe that's the key. But if that's true, I don't think Sargeras would have waited so long after his Avatar died to secure a new body.

There's also the fact that he can't just store all of his power in ANY body, apparently, you need to be one super special ultra powerful demigod-like being to qualify.
Which makes it all the more baffling that they're picking Illidan of all people as the new host of Sargeras, when I can think just off the top of my head at least a dozen people WAY more powerful than he ever was. (Come on, ARTHAS, was able to whoop his ass efforlessly. Not the lich king, weak-ass whiny Arthas, in his WEAKENED STATE no less).
This list includes, but is not limited to:
Khadgar
Thrall
Malfurion
Jaina
Alextrazsa
The Lich King (Old one, or new one, take your pick)
All the Watchers still alive
Odyn
And several, several more.
Lets face it, Illidan has been at the bottom of a very long food chain. His power level is way below half the cast of this game.

Probably something to do with the fact Illidin became like...half demon. Some stupid reason like that.

Since when has that been a requirement? He possessed medivh, and he never was half-demon.
Seriously, this attempt at making illidan some chosen-one special snowflake is unbelievably half-assed and poorly managed.

If I had to make an attempt at an actual realistic story telling perspective...it could be the fact that Illidan's body is 'empty' right now; so infusing the Essence of the Fallen Titan into him could be done, because then you wouldn't have the Medivh effect, where the original host was fighting back constantly and set up his own death.
Annnnnnnd as much as I hate the Emo-King, I am willing to admit that he was one of the more powerful non-Highborne mages back then, and he does pull off a few things that you wouldn't have expected him to be able to do. After all, he was able to figure out spells to re-create the demon hunters, open long range portals to Legion worlds, and re-open the Dark Portal without all of the rigmarole that the Orcs had to do.
The chosen one thing is bull crap, but if it wasn't about appeasing the Illidan fans out there, it could have been done better.

So I got artifact level 25 on my Death Knight...and I'm a little disappointed; the history section for the Frost Blades is just the history of Frostmourne /sigh

are you surprised? The blades of the fallen prince ARE frostmourne. The history of the blade during and after the third war is already known to us. And before the third war, it wasn't a pair of blades, it was just a single blade. Thus, its pretty normal that the story of the twin blades is just the story of frostmourne.

Yeah I know but still...it was all stuff we knew; I liked reading about the Maw and Apocalypse, but I just skimmed the Blades section.

The blades of the fallen prince are also pretty unique in the sense that they're (as far as I know) the only artifact that is actually created during legion, as opposed to being an ancient weapon with a long history before we had them. So that's another reason why we get the history of frostmourne. The history of the twin blades began when we forged it ourselves at ICC.
Me, I'm waiting until my research knowledge is at 25 before I read them.
Also I finished the insurrection campaign, and GOOD GOD, Vereesa is insufferable.

And I get that; I don't know, I think the history of the Twin Blades should have been about what we were doing in the Broken Isles with them. After all, you do get those extra scenes in each zone where Arthas Lich King can spawn and yak at you before fading away.

Anybody else feel that the character of Elisande is really wasted? She has such great potential, I feel, as one who originally had the best in mind for her people, but gradually devolved into a selfish, uncaring monarch who is resolved to her fate as the Legion's pawn.
In game, she cameos in CoS and the Insurrection storyline, and then she dies in the Nighthold. Big whoop.

I do agree that she's very underused, she hardly shows up at all.

I think she was more like the Illidin kind of boss, like back in BC. Rarely seen personally, but their actions permeate deeply into the rest of the expansion, even though they aren't the 'final' boss of the expansion.

Or like blackhand was in WoD. He only shows up exactly three times outside of his raid (Tanaan intro, Talador's final quest, and one garrison campaign quest in nagrand) but his clan was by far the largest, and the one that posed the biggest threat out of the entire iron horde (Which wasn't really saying much, given how much of a pushover they were, but still)
Post by
oneforthemoney
Yeah, somewhat. Although she was also quite hands off, only really involved in her own city whereas Blackhand was more proactive. That being said, she had a lot more presence than Blackhand.

Any final predictions on how Mythic Gul'dan will pan out?

From what the quests say...he goes out like Varian did.

Every class is getting a new champion come 7.2 which can serve as both Bodyguards and passive combat allies (You can choose which role they serve), and while some of them are as generic as generic goes for a few classes, for others, the choices are pretty surprising and unexpected.
Lets start by getting the boring and generic ones out of the way:
Death Knights
get Minerva Ravensorrow. She's a very minor NPC that only shows up in the horde version of the blood artifact acquisition quest. She's there to play foil to Baron Sliver, in that she intends to rescue other captured Ebon Knights, while Sliver only wants to focus on the mission at hand. Overall very disappointing choice. I was hoping so badly that we'd get either Darkrider Arly (Legendary for being the only female gnome DK, with giant pink pigtails) or Lady Alistra, who serves as the trainer for unholy death knights. Instead, we get a random yahoo from a forgettable quest that we only see once. Lame.
Hunters
continue the theme of having very forgettable and unimportant lore figures involved in their campaign. Their new champion is a completely new figure, Nighthuntress Syrenne. She's never showed up before at any point, so she's even more of a nobody than the DK champion is.
Monks
unfortunately also get a nobody as their champion. Someone named Almai. A completely new figure, who has never showed up before. What I wouldn't give that they had chosen Riku instead. Wow is a better game with that monkey around.
Demon Hunters
also have by necessity a lame champion. Theirs is Lady S'theno, the new leader of what remains of the Coilscar Naga forces now that Lady Vashj is dead. She's not really a nobody, given her large involvement in the starting zone, she's just a new kid on the block. Personally, I would have loved if they brought someone back from TBC, or maybe introduced Vandel from the illidan book.
Priests
are the last class that gets a generic champion. In their case Aelthalyste, who is a banshee, and a priest trainer in the undercity. Not entirely a nobody per-se, in the sense that she's at least a pre-existing lore figure, but much like Minerva, her role in the story is SO small as to be nonexistent. I don't think she's even given, or been on a quest before, since the game was released.
And that's it for the generic and lame ones. Now lets dig into the awesome ones.
Druids
get Thisalee Crow. OMG YES. By far and wide the druid with the most personality in all of azeroth right after Hamuul? YES PLS.
Mages
get Aethas Sunreaver. Which means he's once again in his right position as a high leader of the magi forces of azeroth. Suck on that jaina!!!!! :P
Warriors
have two characters listed. I dunno if you have to pick one (unlikely) or if alliance players get one, while the horde gets the other (most likely) because I really doubt they'll get both. The two options for warriors are Eitrigg (Frankly, I'm surprised this guy can still fight, he was already old by the time of "Of Blood and Honor" and that was almost 20 years prior to the events of Legion.) and Mister Crowley (dun dun duuuun) because hey, the Saurfang-wanna-be had to be thrown a bone (he he he) after virtually vanishing from the game once the worgen starting zone was complete.
Rogues
likewise also get two characters, and considering the two options it really looks as if its gonna be faction-dependent. Option 1 is Tess Greymane (I was wondering why she wasn't a champion, given her extensive involvement on the rogue campaign) while option two is.......... Lillian Voss. Yep, she's canonically alive. Will she still be emo? I'm betting she'll still be emo.
Paladins
...... now this is really not fair. They have two options too. Maximillian of Northshire, and some random shmuck nobody ever heard of before, Nerus Moonfang. Really blizzard? alliance paladins get a wacky, funny, and memorable character, and horde paladins get a random yahoo from who-gives-a-crap where? Not cool man.
Now here are the two double-whammies.
Warlocks
get one hell of a champion. Karenhad Ebonlocke. Yep, former leader of the council of the black harvest, and one FRICK of a horrible boss during MoP. Are there latrines in the warlock order hall? if there arent, I'm building one. So karenhad can clean them. Forever. I just can't believe that he's gonna become a champion. Last time we saw him, he had fully transformed himself into a demon, we beat the living crap out of him, and Jubeka banishes him in shadowmoon valley. Whether or not he's joining us voluntarily, or he's bound to submit like the eredar twins are, remains to be seen.
And here it is, the biggest WTF of the whole bunch:
Shamans
get Magatha Grimtotem. Hmmmmmm yeah............. o_O
I gotta say, the one for shamans........ I most certainly did
NOT
see coming.(##RESPBREAK##)520##DELIM##Rankkor##DELIM##

Response to Rankkor.
I would I assumed it would be dark ranger Velonnara for hunters, giver her presence in the hall. I remember who the nighthuntress is, it's a nightborne elite patrolling suramar.¨
Aetheas is too spineless to stand beside me though. Would rather have gotten Rommath or Valtoris.
But voss? Cringe.
