"I was considered promising, likely to go far in highborne society." Adelir continued. "I had a friend, Drenvis. He was always lusting for power, and in the end that turned out to be his downfall, and mine."

"Indeed." Adelir replied. "He was one of the first to change. He came to me one day, horns and cloven hooves, and tried to get me to join. But I saw him for what he was. A monster."

Liliana continues to drink her grog whilst she listens to the story. "Sounds like a dangerous trip. Good thing the giant didn't know how to swim." Liliana chuckled.
"As for a tale of my own... I would love to tell, but it's classified. Sadly." She smirked.

"Technically he was a satyr. But the power he had is far beyond what a normal satyr possesses." The highborne replied. "When Drenvis saw that I would not be persuaded, he cursed me, sealing my magic and promising consequences should I try to use it." There was a long pause as Adelir gathered his thoughts. "I had always been proud, too proud I suppose, of my arcane talents, and as I felt the curse, he felt my blade. I drove my sword through his heart."

The ooze the woman was made of pinched along two vertical lines until she ruptured in three, the gemstone-crowned third charging Tarina dead-on as the other two thirds surged up her flanks.

Deeming it safe enough, Tickten rode towards the elven longhouse. He watched curiously as the Horde forces moved in. Seemed they'd not been as far ahead as he thought. He shrugged.

A whistle on deck broke the stillness.
"Cast off ya basterds!" Ajax's voice thundered.
"Squawk!"
"Shut the *!@# up!"
The ship tilted slightly, then began to move, the sensation a rocking one. Sails bellied as they caught the wind and feet hammered above as sailors rushed hither and there with the final tasks to set the transport out to sea.

Character: Rashahkk the Inexorable, Pyra Anathema
Location: Silverwing Outpost, Ashenvale
Rashahkk was ambling about the camp as the peons rushed to unload kodos and the carts they pulled. The calm after a victory always made him restless. For him, there was no end to battle, only a pause between them. And he had always loathed that pause. He had created himself in battle, as all in his clan had done, and knew little purpose besides it. Now that he was a death knight, the effect had only been amplified.
Pyra rode up, staring at the death knight. It was strange. She still remembered years ago, when the orcs had burned Quel'thalas. And it wasn't long after that that Arthas marched his undead army upon the Sunwell, scarring the land forever with their cursed feet. And now here she was, in service of the Horde, working with an orc death knight. The gods certainly had a cruel sense of humour.
It's even funnier from my perspective. I've been imprisoned within one of my old enemies, the elves, who in turn has been forced to kneel before one of my old servants, the orcs. Pretty soon I expect to see elves drinking demon blood and undead praying to trees.
"Remember this, Tickten," she stated, looking over at the other elf. "Never take for granted the moments you are alone. Silence and privacy are underappreciated by most."
Character: ?, Jade Leafrunner, Base, Nakresh Ogrefist
Location: Silverwing Outpost, Ashenvale
"You intend to burn my sisters?"
Jade asked, still pinned to the ground.
"How disrespectful. A night elf should be returned to the ground, not burned like garbage."
It seemed like the priestess was starting to rouse.
---
Nakresh looked over at the death knight strolling about the camp. He swore he had seen that orc before. Only, the orc he was thinking of had not been a death knight. He supposed it was possible that the orc he knew had been turned into a death knight.
If that was the case, then the Horde had made a huge mistake by assigning him here.

Cynthia felt the ship rock forward, catching the wind and surging ahead.
"Classified, huh?" Cynthia asked skeptically. "That's pretty impressive, I guess. I bet you intelligence guys get up to all kinds of crazy hijinks that you're not allowed to talk about."

Liliana stumbled out of her chair as the ship rocked forwards. Mildly drunk she got back in her chair.
"Ah, yes. Lot'sa stuff. Nightly play time with sexehs, contrived excapes and such." The ensign replied with a smile with implied secrets.

Tarina, Zalexdrad
Felwood
Zalexdrad brought a wing down, taking the hit with his limb. It held, the membrane flexing and ripping at some points, electing a shout of pain from the Incubus.
Tarina gasped as the slime slip. She looked at all three for a moment, and then noticed the green gem within the central one. Without much recourse but to try it, she nodded her head forward, and with renewed coordination, the crystals soared towards the central Naranaya.
Slowly, the light around the Draenei seemed to grow darker, the central rod of her weapon glowing brighter than before, as if it consumed the light. In her bubble of darkness, Tarina rushed forward, drifting to the side in hopes of getting between two of the slime women as she ran, the strange shadow following with her as it the air grew nearly black.
The blue and red crystals came to a stop at either side of their target, shifting to their flat sides faced towards the central woman. Suddenly, they soared together, the green gem coming between them as they impacted it, like two magnets trying to conjoin through a walnut.

Rashahkk spotted the two elves entering the camp and started walking in their direction.
---
"If you ever bond yourself to a demon, you'll understand," Pyra replied, shrugging. "It's like having the meanest, strongest step-mother in the world constantly standing over your shoulder."
How unflattering of you.
"I try," she replied.
Character: ?, Jade Leafrunner, Base, Nakresh Ogrefist
Location: Silverwing Outpost, Ashenvale
"It's not our way,"
Jade replied, still glaring as the troll.
"If you were a real druid, you would know that. It's traditional practice to inter the dead in barrows in the Cenarion Circle."
---
It was a curious scene, Nakresh admitted, watching the death knight strolling through the camp over to two blood elves, one of them being a demon hunter.
It was like there were two Hordes, but everyone acted like had always been the same. Himself, an officer in the ancient Kor'kron Guard, and his men made up one Horde. They were following in the footsteps of Grom Hellscream and the Warsong, back during their first expedition into the forest.
The death knight, the blood elves, even the troll druid, seemed to make up another. During the war in Northrend, the Horde seemed to have lowered its standards. New, strange powers were fostered, and they did not sit well with the orc.
Except, it couldn't have been during the war on Northrend. The Blood Elves and their strange magic had been integrated into the Horde years ago, and the Forsaken before that. Even before that, Gul'dan's warlocks and death knights had been called to serve the Horde. Really, the 'pure' elements had never existed alone.
He grunted as he thought. At least his job was simple. He had not been tasked with purifying the Horde, simply capturing this outpost, and he had done that well. Now was the time for celebration. Still, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong.

Cynthia could feel the alcohol's effect on her too, but she hadn't been able to keep up with the older woman, nor had she tried after the first few minutes.
"I bet you've uncovered all sorts of dastardly plots and conspiracies," she ventured, looking up at the slightly inebriated woman.

"I'm over five thousand years old. I have lived in the Darnassian Empire the entire time. Don't presume to lecture me, troll,
" Jade replied with irritation.
"I was not talking about the Barrow-Dens, which house the sleepers, but the Underbarrows, where the dead are laid to rest; where Cenarius body was taken after he was slain by your Horde."
"Obviously, I don't expect you brutes to prepare a deep crypt for my sisters. I will simply warn that your disdain for the dead will be rewarded in kind. You shall find no rest in death when you die in this forest."
The priestess groaned as she started to come to, her silver eyes blinking open in confusion. Suddenly, her memories flooded back, and she tried to leap to her feet, only to be hampered by the crude orcish leg irons she was wearing.

"Now you're just toying with me,
" Jade answered, shaking her head.
"The choice is yours to make. I do not control the dead. They have their own will. Disrespect them at your own peril. In the position I find myself in, I have little to offer in deal, but I suspect you already know that."
The priestess sat back down angrily. She considered running, even with the irons on, but she knew she wouldn't get far with the troll watching them like this. She'd have to wait until they were less diligently supervised.
