You may want to check out the
Subtlety Rogue
and
Combat Rogue
guide hub pages, as they discuss some of the things you may be struggling with. Also of assistance is
Icy Veins' Rogue Leveling Guide
, which talks about what to do before you hit max level.

Are you trading out your weapons and armor as you acquire better pieces? If pieces aren't dropping from dungeons and that's the primary way you level, consider doing a few quests in your level range to acquire new gear & weapons. Also, are you repairing when items break? And finally, do you have any access to heirloom pieces (they level with you, and are typically best in slot)?
As for your other concerns:
Consider the use of addons like SpellFlash for help with using abilities in the right order / combination.
Glyphs are like talents in that they give a boost to certain abilities - any of the guides I linked in the first reply have a glyph section that can assist you in which to use.

I am selling them back to the vendors when I get better stuff. Yes I am getting great stuff from the dungeons. I have not done any raids.
I do NOT have any heirlooms which is why I think I am doing something wrong. At level 50 shouldn't I already have some?
YEs I am repairing them when they get busted...
I need someone to look at my character and talk me through it over the phone or some sh!t...I love the game, love the quests..the people (so far) have been helpful but theres only so much you can reiterate via gameworld convo's.
Is there a level of stats I should be at by this number? Sorry to hit you with this SquirelKel...

Use the
Planner
to look up your character, and consider linking the profile to your user page for easy access. Once you pull up the Planner, you'll be shown upgrades for your character's gear and weapons amongst other things. If you link it here, someone more knowledgeable about the rogue class may be able to help you with stats (unfortunately my rogue is only 42 so I'm no use). If you're in a guild, consider asking someone on a rogue character for assistance, or look up their character on the
Profiler
to try to mimic their stat preferences.
Raids aren't available until shortly before level 60 (your first one is Molten Core) so I'm not concerned that you haven't done those yet.
Heirlooms I believe you need to be 60 to purchase as they're really supposed to assist players in leveling alts after they already have a high-level character.
This guide
lists all the heirlooms in-game for when you get to that point.

The Icy Veins guides only really give a 85-100 heads up. They are still worth reading. Don't rule out trying Assassination. I'd always had Sub/Com while leveling and I found Assassination a lot easier to play.
Don't worry about the level of stats that you should be shooting for - largely irrelevant while leveling. Just make sure it's Leather armor with +Agility on & you're good.
What I tend to do while leveling (although I have access to heirlooms), is see which slot has the lowest item level, then use Wowhead to see where the best upgrade is from for my level (unless it's a random World drop). E.g. It may be from a quest chain in a certain zone, so I'd go and do it.
I'd probably gain a level or two though so, then I'd be ready to check my gear again for the new lowest item & again check out Wowhead for a new quest. A good way to get to see different zones too, albeit fairly briefly.
Things should be dying too quickly to be able to follow the full spell priority as in Icy Veins guides (as well as not having some abilities yet). Just read the guides and drop new spells into your arsenal when gained.
I'm not a fan of addons telling me what to do - becomes robot-like playing then in my opinion. May help to try it, but I wouldn't become reliant on one.
Basic guide:-

p.s. Rogue is only like my 6th go-to alt, so am in no way an expert. Fun class to play though and welcome to World of Warcraft.

I'm not a rogue expert by any means, but I'm pretty good at WoW so I'm gonna throw my 2 cents in here.
I've got 10 classes at 100. My recommendation is to forget about stats, forget about raids, don't even think about heirlooms, and just play the game. Read the story, experience the land, etc. The game is very fast now compared to any other expansion, and that's been done on purpose to accommodate the existing player-base. When I leveled up my first two classes to max (warlock and hunter) during Cataclysm, I did it to see the storylines on the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. I had no heirlooms at all on the lock since she was my first, and very few (maybe 1?) on the hunter since I didn't know how to make any gold at all.
Don't worry about power-leveling...enjoy the game you've paid for. There is so much to see for a first-time player. The others had great suggestions, but I'd really just suggest what I do:
Since you're DPS, quest quest quest quest and quest. Run each dungeon 1 time to get the quest rewards from it, which gives you a bonus to leveling. Any more than 1 time and you're actually losing XP versus questing. Make sure to pick two gathering professions (herb/mining/skinning) and sell those mats on the AH each time you leave a zone so that you start making some gold.
That's it. That's all I do when I level a new toon.

Yes ^ Do his suggestion.
It's more important to enjoy the game your own way. Once you get to max level you can decide what you want to do for the rest of the game. (be it, level a new character with heirlooms, raid, BG, Arena's, Achievements etc)
A word of warning though: after reaching max level I went back to experience the rest of the game and previous expansions, and accidentally became an over achiever... Now the rest of my life has been impacted by that decision. haha
Have fun!

I linked my character to my profile...Any suggestions, criticisms whatever are welcome. Thanks everyone. All good advice. Probably not worthy of a guild yet but I had put in a few requests. Probably too early for that too. Either way, diggin it!
Jarycu, Atratzu and others...thanks.

Here
is moskill's rogue, for those too lazy to navigate to their profile page first.
I just want to clarify one thing:
Guilds aren't solely for the max-level character, or for people who know exactly how to play their character(s). In reality, they're there to provide a layer of community for everyone - and every guild I've ever seen takes characters of every level and skill. A good guild will have supportive players who are willing to help you out in whatever facet of the game you are struggling. Don't be afraid to find a guild that works for you and your interests, and feel free to spread out your characters amongst different guilds once you get to the point where you have multiple characters.

Agreed, don't think of guilds as "something to do at max level", think of it as a community you can join. However I wouldn't accept any guild invites from anyone I hadn't spoken to. If you meet someone cool, or are looking for a certain type of community ask around to join a guild like that!

You could do a lot worse than swapping out the Intellect ring as soon as practical, too...

Jarycu, Atratzu and others...thanks.
Not true. A lot of guilds take social and casual players, there are many players of WoW who are not elite, never raid etc just like to have fun. I'd recommend joining a guild for the social aspect, if nothing else. If you join one and don't think it's for you, keep looking.
My guild haven't really raided for 2 expansions. Not a big guild & there are never enough online on the same night to make it viable. We don't actively recruit, so it's kinda our own fault we don't raid properly these days, but if anyone was that bothered they'd take it up and actively recruit. We all have lives and families, so we just tick along and sometimes do some LFR's together and some even join their old guild alliance pals for a proper raid occasionally. I love being part of the little micro-community and a few of the guild are quite local to me (discovered completely by chance!).
Just because you're new to the game and learning your class, don't think you'd be frowned upon for low damage, or making newbie mistakes. I'm sure there are a lot of guilds out there (like ours) who would be more than accommodating in welcoming a new-ish player to their ranks and people enjoy passing on their wisdom of their class and confessing newbie mistakes they'd once made. You'll come across some idiots quite a bit too, especially in random dungeons. Just shrug them off & carry on.
