I'm looking to get into pet battling, nothing hard core just perhaps some casual stuff, mostly to have all level 3 garrison buildings unlocked.
My main question is, what are 3 battle pets that make a solid team, all the way to WoD?
Any addition tips or links to guides would be apprecated, as well.

There are a lot of resources here on Wowhead for Pet Battles:
-there is a
whole section of Battle Pet Guides
- there is the specific and detailed
Guide to the Garrison Menagerie
You can also find a wealth of Battle Pet information on
WarcraftPets.com
With
over
600 Battle Pets available
, it is difficult to recommend just one team of three Battle Pets to take into Draenor.
I can tell you the team that I use for Draenor, however, you may find other teams that work for you as well:
First Slot:
Terrible Turnip
- Level 25 Rare Quality
- I use this pet in the first slot and use the
Sunlight
ability to create a Sunny Day. "During a sunny day, the maximum health of all pets is increased by 50%. and healing done is increased by 25%." This pet also has the
Weakening Blow
ability which reduces the opponent's heath, but not below zero and is excellent for those situations when you want to capture a wild battle pet.
Second Slot:
Crystal Spider
- Level 25 Rare Quality
- I use the
Sticky Web
and then the
Leech Life
to defeat the pet that I am battling.
Third Slot: Whatever pet that I am leveling
- If the pet is low level, I go to the old world Azeroth Zones to do a few battles to raise its level before taking it to higher level Pet Battle areas. I will let this pet take one turn so that it can gain experience and then switch back to one of the other two as the battle continues. If I want to capture the pet that I am battling, I try to make sure that I put in the
Terrible Turnip
and use the
Weakening Blow
so I don't accidentally kill the pet.

Well, My battles would likely be mostly against varies npc trainers, as I don't really want to battle many wild pets later on.
I was also wondering more along the lines if any pets specifically were better than others. Such as blue quality? Or do they all about equal out at 25, after beign upgraded?
Also! thanks for the links, i'll browse through them soon.

Blue pets will always be better than non-blue pets of the same breed and level, but upgrading one to blue won't be any worse than one that started as blue. However, you may still see some differences in stats, because each species of pet (aside from some pets that you can only get one of) will have multiple potential breeds, and which of those is best depends on what you're using it for. For instance, if you're using moves that rely on going first, you'll probably want the breed with the most Speed. Check the pet's page on Wowhead to see what breeds it has and what their stats are at various levels/rarities.
