If you're having trouble finding where to start Golden Lotus rep (like me) you must first pick up the following quest
(alliance)
(horde)

Do a short questline and you'll open the gates to the Vale of Eternal Blossoms, and once the gates are open, you should find a Golden Lotus quest chain/daily quest hub at the Golden Pagoda.

So if you are 90 by Wednesday night and start dailies Thursday morning what will you be considered? Im assuming friendly can be achieved at the very least in 5 days of grinding 50dailies a day.

Upon reaching revered with the Golden Lotus the August Celestials quartermaster directed me to "Challenge at the Temple of the Red Crane", a daily quest. Now I can do August Celestials and Shado-Pan dailies (at Shado-Pan Garrison in Townlong Steppes).

After completing the quest line and reaching 90, there were no daily quests available at the Golden Pagoda. The questgivers were there but there were no quests. I flew around and found two Golden Lotus quests from Anji Autumnlight: Killing the Quillen and Stones of Power. Finishing these two quests still didn't open the dailies for me. After completing the auto-accept quest The Guo-Lai Halls the dailies became available to me.

I'd like to add a bit of information to this faction. You actually need to learn Wisdom of the Four Winds to actually begin questing for this reputation. I found out about this because of my greediness, i tried to gain reputation before buying it since the guy who trains it is Golden Lotus rep and i thought i could save up some gold.
I ended up losing about an hour trying to figure out other ways to do the quests. Hope this helps.

In the description of the entry, it says it sends you to The golden Stair at friendly, this is incorrect, you actually get there at Netural. Just hit friendly and havent had any additional dailies open up

This is how much rep you get per day.

In paranthesis is the amount of rep you will get if you have used Grand Commendation of the Golden Lotus on another character.

From friendly to honored:
Without reputation buffs: 1000 (2000)
With either guild perk or human racial: 1100 (2200)
With both reputation buffs: 1200 (2400)

From honored to revered:
Without reputation buffs: 1500 (3000)
With either guild perk or human racial: 1650 (3300)
With both reputation buffs: 1800 (3600)

From revered to exalted:
Without reputation buffs: 1700 (3400)
With either guild perk or human racial: 1870 (3740)

Has anyone else seen or heard of a phasing issue where if you complete the halls chain before you kills the stone quilen they disappear essentially freezing your quest progression? If so what was the resolution or could you point me in the correct direction? TYVM, in advance.

After 5.0.5 the rep required to purchase the epic rings from the Golden Lotus has been lowered.

They are now available at honored status instead of revered, but still carry a cost of 1250 Valor Points.

The information about reputation rewards are incorrect. The trinket comes available at friendly, epic rings at honored and shoulders and chest at revevered. Upon exalted you can get the tabard and the mounts.

Confirmed once you pick up the dailies for Golden Lotus you must start at the Golden Pagoda each day in The Vale of Eternal Blossoms, once completing the dailies here it will either send you to Mistfall Village or Whitepetal Lake for a few more dailies.. This changes from day to day and are not available until the dailies at the Golden Pagoda have been completed

With the amount of factions in MoP this may be the only faction I do the grind for since Im a Hunter Leather Worker. I don't
have the time to grind exalted for each alt so its going to be class/profession based choices

It's quite strange, but Golden Lotus is another name for chinese foot binding practice, ended in early XX century. Don't actually know, why Blizzard used this name for a faction in Mists of Pandaria, but for some lore-lovers there is a link:

One tip when passing through Guo-Lai Halls, in the Hall of Tiles (accessible when you hit Revered), because those tiles have traps which can definitely kill you if you don't know where you're going.

The first tile that you will see when you enter Guo-Lai halls.. (after getting the speed boosts) is 1 single tile that has a symbol on it. (Found at the bottom of the ramp). That symbol is the clue that it is the safe tile when walking through the Hall of Tiles. The symbol changes every daily reset.

Really dunno if this is exploiting but you can do this...

If you get keys and have a hard time finding chests you can go naked in Guo Lai Halls die by a door and get passed it as a ghost.

Worked for me got 3 chests in like 5 miutes

A bit of clarification:

The database suggests these dailies reward 141g 60s 00c a piece, this is not correct.
They, in fact, reward 19g 84s 50c per quest. A much more reasonable, albeit less satisfying, return.

Tip for getting your dailies done extremely fast:

Accept all the first quests
Head over to where you need to do the quest
Post in general and yell looking for group
If you find a group ask to be leader
Now invite everyone you see in the quest area until you have a full group
Start with doing all the quests others can't help you with (like pick-up quests)
Finish up any quests that people can help you with (kill quests)
Hand in your quests
If you can do more sections repeat the steps

Doing the self-done quests first seems selfish but if you did it at the same time you would be fighting over things and once you get your ones done you can do the killing whilst they do theirs

Is there anything one can do to gain like 200 rep. i've done all the daily quests. and i lack 137 rep to get my tailoring patterns. i got 600 in all the primary and secondary professions.

Yea i don't understand.. I got all the dailes on my warrior.. but for my pally nothing.. i got up to the bombing an entrance and handed it in..and nothing.. but i could've have abandon the quests and moved onto something else for dungeon quests or something and yes i flew everywhere in the vale..

The mounts does not cost 3000 gold each like it says here.
I hit exalted today and:
Reins of the Azure Riding Crane costs 350 Gold (500 before reduction)
Reins of the Regal Riding Crane costs 1050 Gold (1500 before reduction)
Reins of the Golden Riding Crane costs 1750 Gold (2500 before reduction)

Just a warning regarding The August Celestials dailies, which unlock at revered:
Make sure you pick up the quest A Celestial Task before you are revered with Golden Lotus and don't delete it from your log like I did (as it's pretty useless when you're not revered yet). After you hit revered, the quest becomes unavailable. If you can't turn it in you'll be missing out on at least one daily: In Battle's Shadow. It's a bug, they know about it, but until now I missed it 3 times already.

None of the information here helped me unlock the dailies. So here is the real guide straight from blizzard themselves.

We've seen some confusion about how to gain access to the Golden Lotus faction dailies in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. In case you've been having trouble getting where you need to be, below are some detailed steps to ensure you're on the correct path.

Spoiler Warning! This guide shares some details about the associated quest chain that takes you to the Vale of Eternal Blossoms and the Golden Lotus. If you'd prefer to naturally find your way there during your adventures, the first couple of bullets should be sufficient for pointing you in the right direction.

Here is how you get into the Vale of Eternal Blossoms:

At level 87, go speak to Anduin/Dezco at the Temple of the White Tiger in Kun-Lai Summit and complete "A Celestial Experience."
Accept the follow-up quest, "A Witness to History."
Find Anduin/Dezco at the big gate north of the Vale. This will start a cinematic that opens the gates.
Turn in "A Witness to History" to Zhi the Harmonious at the Golden Pagoda in the center of Vale of Eternal Blossoms.
Accept and complete the follow-up quest, "The Shrine of Two Moons," and "The Shrine of Seven Stars" (Horde/Alliance respectively).
If you're not level 90 you'll receive no further quests.
At level 90 you should return and pick up the quest chain again. Note that you must have trained flying to proceed.

Pick up "The Ruins of Guo-Lai" and complete it.
This leads to "Out with the Scouts" and "Barring Entry."
This leads to "Killing the Quilen" and "Stones of Power." While in the ruins, you should also get "The Guo-Lai Halls." If you don't get this quest near the entrance to the crypt, you can return to Anji Autumnlight to get this quest.
These 3 quests must be completed before you can complete "Leaving an Opening."
Turn in "Leaving an Opening" at the Golden Pagoda, and this should lead straight into the dailies.

The epic necklace reward at the end of this rep grind is really kind of stupid because the grind takes SO LONG that by the time anyone gets to the end of it they have long since either bought an epic necklace with valor points or won one in a raid.

Gaining Reputation
To begin questing with Golden Lotus, you'll need to prove yourself to the Pandaren at the Temple of the White Tiger in Kun-Lai Summit. You'll be able to fly into Vale of Eternal Blossoms otherwise, but many areas will be phased. The gates to the Vale have not been open in many years, so you will have to defeat three trials, the last one being a shadowy version of a faction leader.

As you gain reputation with Golden Lotus, more quest hubs will unlock with 4-5 quests each. You'll first start out at the Golden Pagoda hub with sending you to The Golden Stair at Friendly, and go up from there. Each hub has several sets of quests and additional side quests at Revered.

The Golden Stair: Eliminating the Shao-Tian Mogu by the Vale's north gate.
Mistfall Village: Saving the town from sprites and fires, as well as gathering resources.
Ruins of Guo-Lai: Clearing the ruins of Mogu statues and spiderwebs.
Setting Sun Garrison: Dealing with the Mantid threat.
Whitepetal Lake: Dive into the water to restore artifacts, as well as kill enemies on the riverbanks.

The final daily quest of the day will be to kill an elite that also rewards Treasures of the Vale, which can contain awesome things like gem recipes or Spirits of Harmony. Killing all the various elites awards One Many Army.

There's also a one-time quest series that progresses further as your reputation increases:
At Honored, The Secrets of Guo-Lai has you discover more of the Guo-Lai Halls with He Softfoot, and rewards you with an ilvl 440 ring.

At Revered, there is a quest chain to find several artifacts of power, belonging to the "Thunder King," before the Mogu do. The reward is an ilvl 463 chest (Example: Bonded Plate of the Golden Lotus), from Battle Axe of the Thunder King.

Upon hitting Exalted, you'll face off with Zhao-Jin the Bloodletter. First, you'll have to kill 100 Mogu in The Might of Three, getting aid from the Celestials in the form of buffs: Wrath of the Jade Serpent, Fury of the White Tiger, Strength of the Black Ox. Afterwards, it's time to eliminate Zhao-Jin the Bloodletter in The Final Power. This is a pretty fun fight where you'll throw a spear at him for 500k damage and get a movement and jump buff from the last Celestial: Wings of Hope. The best part is that completing this quest will give you an epic necklace, like Burning Necklace of the Golden Lotus.

The whole zone of Vale of the Eternal Blossoms resets every day. So if you picked up a Golden Lotus daily and completed it, you shall turn it in before the end of the day. Otherwise the reset will automatically drop any quest that has not been turned in.

Pretty depressing for me.

Ok, I was phased in the vale and VERY frustrated.

Finally with the help of a GM, I found out I actually had done A Mogu's Message, but had not picked up the next quest.

I had to return to the silent sanctuary to finish off the quest line.

The silent sanctuary is the on the east side of Mistfall village, the base built into the mountain on the platform where those imps are.

If anyone is having trouble getting the rest of the quest chain to pop up, remember you need to to purchase pandaria flying before you are able to progress any further in the story line.

All I can say is wow, way to spit on your players, Blizzard. Yes, I understand what they were trying to do here (make reputation-building with factions more than just wearing tabards and grinding dungeons). But a faction that you NEED to get up to Revered to unlock dailies to get your reputation up with two other factions, and can only get up to 1200 rep a day with regardless of how high your reputation is at the present time? And I heard the complaint about how dailies feel like going to work about two expacs ago.

Do not get me wrong. If the number of quests went up to ten or twelve a day when I was above Friendly level, and the rep reward quest was at least decent (with one or two offering 1000+ rep a la the Cloud Serpent folk), then I would not be writing this. But as it currently stands, grinding reputation with this faction feels like you have a mountain of salt in front of you, massive lacerations throughout your mouth, and a person holding a gun at your head whilst ordering you to eat the salt one spoonful at a time.

I have been doing dailies every day trying to get to revered, and I noticed a quirk where it seemed like I was not receiving rep for some quests. I figured it was my imagination, but I started recording and watching my rep after each daily turn in.

Today I turned in 4 quests at one of the hubs and only received rep from 3 of the quests. My best guess is that 2 of the quests were from the same giver and I turned them quickly 1 after the other, and it glitched out.

So if you find yourself feeling short changed, my only suggestion is let a couple of seconds pass between each quest turn in.

I have been doing dailies everyday. I did a few quests and then the things werent where they were supposed to be. I got aggrivated and dropped the quest. Now when I go to the shrine, no ones there. Everyone everywhere is fighting. I have looked everywhere for quest to pick up and I cant find any. Anyone got any ideas?

The first quests in this chain are:
The Ruins of Guo-Lai, Out with the Scouts and Barring Entry then you will get Killing the Quilen and Stones of Power.

For those of you flying back and forth, etc. -- I had the same problem. Went to the pagoda and no quests! Questgivers seemed to be there, but I couldn't get any quests at all. Found a thread that suggested Anji had moved to the Gai Lao ruins area, so I flew over there--still no quests.

If you are having trouble opening the Golden Lotus dailies, as I was on my second level 90 toon, you may have a phasing issue. For some reason, flying past the Gai Lao Halls and ruins area then returning to the golden pagoda got me The Ruins of Guo-Lai

Ignore any of the other BS above about August Celestials, etc. If you're having this problem, these quests seemed to be the answer for me.

Mad beyond belief that I will have to get GL revered on a THIRD toon. Still working on getting Exalted (6k away) on August Celestials for the tailoring bag pattern and will have to get exalted on that third toon for the same tailoring pattern. I will have 1000 imperial silk before I get the pattern. With all the dailies, I don't have time to do anything else. Logon, do dailies, log off... not even tanking dungeons anymore on my main. GTH blizzard...

Make sure you have grand commendation for a faction before completing any one-time quests (non-daily) on an alt so you get double rep... the rep is better on the one time than the piddly 115+115 rep given out by the stingy GL faction

As of 5.3 you are no longer required to reach Revered with this faction in order to do August Celestials or Shado-Pan dailies. The daily hubs for those factions will become available immediately upon hitting 90.

When 5.4 hits, Golden Lotus dailies will no longer be available. Get them while you can!

As of 5.4 every Mob in the zone gives 10 Golden lotus Rep per kill. There are also still dailies available from the Setting Sun Garrison which reward 300 rep each. These gains are before any bonus rep you might get from Guild, the Commendation or others. This is the current status on the PTR and may be subject to change.

Major changes are coming to the Golden Lotus in 5.4.

What is going away:

Eternally in the Vale is being removed, as well as the related quests and rewards. Players currently progress farther through this quest series as they gain reputation--this is not tied to any daily quests.
The multi-tiered daily system is simplified. Some quest hubs are destroyed, such as the Golden Pagoda and Whitepetal Lake hubs.
The quests to kill elites are removed.
The Fish of the Day pool for Jewel Danio is now a sha-infested area.
Many parts of the Vale are now Sha-infested and destroyed. Most NPCs are tinged with grey, there are many Sha populating the zone, and there is a larger Mogu presence than before.

What is staying:

The Setting Sun Garrison is still a quest hub in 5.4. Players can complete all the quests that are tied to Quest Achievements from this hub. So far on the PTR, some quests available from the Ruins of Guo-Lai hub are now available from the Setting Sun Garrison.
Aki the Chosen is still to the east of the Golden Pagoda. Defeating her completes Taming Pandaria.
All achievements tied to daily quests are obtainable.
The Lorewalkers are staying in place, as is Kai Featherfall for Challenge Mode mounts.
Alani is still flying around as before--presumably there will be a way to acquire Reins of the Thundering Ruby Cloud Serpent.

What is new:

Killing mobs in Vale of Eternal Blossoms normally awards 10 Golden Lotus reputation.
The elite mobs for One Many Army are now marked as rare spawns. These award 200 reputation when killed.
On the PTR, any mob in Vale of Eternal Blossoms can drop Schematic: Chief Engineer Jard's Journal. This is smart loot, meaning that it will only drop for eligible Engineers. This contains recipes for Jard's Peculiar Energy Source, Sky Golem, Advanced Refrigeration Unit, Pierre, and Rascal-Bot.
Jaluu the Generous has relocated to the capital cities.

I'm currently farming rep for Golden Lotus and I find the easiest way is to kill the Mogu at Guo-Lai Halls.

1. They respawn rather quickly
2. They have a chance to drop Ancient Guo-Lai Cache Key which open chests containing Relic of Guo-Lai or even better, Relic of the Thunder King

As of patch 5.4, reputation can be acquired through killing Sha based NPCs throughout the corrupted part of the vale. I read that they are only supposed to give 5 reputation per kill for the smaller Shas but I was getting 12. I imagine it was because I was getting 2 extra rep for guild bonus and being human and then double the original rep for having the account bound reputation buff.

~~(5 (base rep) + 5 (boa rep)) + (10 x .2)(20% total human and guild bonus).~~
5 base rep plus 20% guild and human bonus = 6 rep. 6 rep x 200% rep buff = 12 total rep.
This is basically what it says in my chat log so I am guessing this is how the actual math goes.
"Reputation with Golden Lotus has increase by 480 (+240 bonus)."
I did not have a banner on the toon I was rep grinding but I am sure the 5/10/15% buff works.

As it stands, this seems to be the BASE reputation:

5 reputation for small shas Vestige of Pride
10 reputation for larger shas Manifestation of Pride
200 reputation for rares

As a human with all 3 bonuses, I was getting:

12 reputation for small shas Vestige of Pride
24 reputation for larger shas Manifestation of Pride
480 reputation for rares

There are several other types of NPCs which can be killed for reputation but considering how obvious it is to find them(look in the sha infested areas!) I am not going to list them all.

So far I have only farmed up to friendly but based on what I have gathered, you can sha farm to exalted. I will edit this as I get further up in my reputation farming. I did this on my mage and he only had a 505ish ilvl. I had no problem pulling several- up 5 Manifestations and 15+ Vestiges.

Additionally, I have read that there are still a few daily quests available and I will update this once I try them out.

Also...not all rare NPCs in the area give reputation such as Sahn Tidehunter. So far I have killed 3 rares which did give rep:
Moldo One-Eye
Quid
Vicejaw

Keep in mind too, you can still do dungeon daily bonus and farm orders to get reputation but this is not new so I did not go into detail about this.

the daily quests are moved to the setting sun garrison in the south west corner of the vale.

i spend days looking for daily's in the golden pagoda and all other solutions for if they do not show there.

If you finish the quest Temple of the White Tiger , and you don't know where to find the quest's for The Golden Lotus, search in at The Garrison of the Setting Sun at 36.75. The daily quest's can be find here these days.

If you're farming GL rep outside the dailies you have to kill the NPC's in the Vale.

The Rare Elites give you 200 rep.
The normals give you 10 rep
** plus bonuses

I've found it easiest to take out the groups of low health animals like deer which still give the same 10 rep per animal.
