Some of those glyphs don't look correct. Colossus Smash is a major. Hamstring doesn't do that anymore. Shield Wall provides 60% damage reduction but on a longer cooldown. That's just off the top of my head.

Prime glyphs aren't going to be exciting in a "change up your rotation" style. We want primes to be unambiguous dps (etc.) increases so we figured they might as well be easy to understand rather than something so convoluted that everyone would just go to a fansite to see which 3 to pick.

The majors are more interesting, because they are either not dps increases at all, or dps increases in ways that are tricky to math out. We think players will debate and geek out more about which majors to use, and with the new glyph design, swapping them out once in awhile isn't very painful.

Minors are basically convenience or fun.

We don't want glyphs to change rotations. We feel that was a mistake in LK. Talents should affect your rotations, and glyphs should just provide a little bit of customization and power. We fixed some class problems with glyphs in LK, which was an easy solution to do at the time, but now is the time to undo all of that and let the classes stand on their own without the glyphs.

I don't know about everybody else, but I am a completionist, at least on my main toon. If I don't have every single last glyph on my character it will tweak me the heck out o.0

Are they by tier of your profession like *book* of journeyman or just *book* ? Is there a maximum of times you can use them? Is there a book for inscription? What is the cost gain ration? Are the mats worth less than the early skill up mats or more. If its less why bother skilling up a profession if all you have to do is make a scribe to power level all your alts, friends, and guild mates. To answer the last question i would say Blizz wouldn't be the stupid to trivialize skilling up a profession, this means its more so you wont have any customers until the later skill ups. Of course this means you can charge more, but also means you'll have less buyers so you need to keep the price small to make a bulk profit. Then competition you will have dozens if not hundreds of these things on the Auction House at all times competing for prices.Comment by 91169This post was from a user who has deleted their account.Comment by 46491Powerlevelers with deep pockets (and god knows there's millions of them out there) will want to take the easy way out, rather than to to the AH and buy the tons of mats needed to level their profession, they simply will buy 525 of these books and be done with it.

I mean, just to give an example. to level engineering today from 1 to 450 you need this list of mats:

someone dedicated (and poor) would rather farm these mats manually, but the lazy+richer player will not, the richer player will simply go to the AH, and buy these off.

now fast-foward to cataclysm, let's say u're a lazy+rich player, would you rather spend 4k gold on the above mentioned mats and then go to the grind of leveling by hand engineering?, or spend 6k on 450 books, and simply spam-click on them to get the same result?

I think the answer is pretty clear.Comment by VaekuI find it interesting that Blizzard has started giving each class their own unique mechanic. They seem to have started this trend with the death knights and the runic power and runes.

Now paladins are getting a Holy Power mechanic, hunters are getting focus, moonkins are getting this eclipse bar, priests are getting chakra/shadow orbs and warlocks are getting the new soul shard mechanic. I guess they're trying to differentiate each of the mana-using classes so it's not just plain old "use mana to cast spells".

Obviously warriors, rogues, and shaman had their own unique mechanic before hand, but it seems that death knights started this trend with a new interesting mechanic other than "drain a bar/fill up a bar".
