This achievement awards an Armored Red Dragonhawk for the Horde.

Alliance version awards Armored Blue Dragonhawk.

This is the achievement for obtaining 200x mounts.

Yeah, it's a dragonhawk. However, at least it's armored, and the colours are a lot better and not so pale, which makes it far superior to the original 100 mount dragonhawks in my opinion.

This mount should have been the 100 mount reward -_- Seriously not impressed.

Getting the 100 mounts back when this achievement was created was a challenge and should have been rewarded this mount instead.

The mounts themselves have gone through some iterations since the PTR, a few changes with the spikes and our actual animation when sitting on them.

Overall, I adore these new mounts and wish people the best of luck with obtaining them.

for those trying to get this and missing a few best way to get several mount is have a lock / paladin with tailoring and enginering which gives a total of 7 extra mounts u will have on an alt... myself was lacking 3 mounts , once i leveled my tailoring on my lock to 425 all was piece of cake
nice looking mount ,better 4x than the 100 mounts reward
edit : will put a screenshot with the horde version cause that seems kind of an alliance mount

o.k. So I thought I'd post this as it may be helpful to others.. I went to the armory to do a comparison between my Horde main and my Alliance main to see what mounts I was missing.. Begin a game plan to getting this achieve. First thing I noticed was that I'd never gotten the two Worgen faction mounts.. So, I made a Worgen dk; ground through the quest chain to get it out of the starting area; and went off to purchase the two mounts.

Lo and behold, no change in the running total of mounts towards the achieve. I was still stuck at 171. So, I put in a ticket. Here's the gist of the explanation. And in retrospect, it makes perfect sense:

Faction mounts cancel each other out between Horde and Alliance as far as mount achieves are concerned. i.e. Since I already had the two Goblin mounts, getting the Worgen mounts did not count as extra mounts towards the achievement.

My next step was a long, slow grind of Argent Tournament for those more expensive mounts (100 Champion's Seals), etc.. So I asked the GM about that. He/she confirmed that these also, as far as mount achievements are concerned, count in the same way. So I only need to focus on one side or the other (Horde, or Alliance). Purchasing mounts from both sides will be a waste of time for the achievement.

I hope this posting will save a few of you from wasting precious time on mounts you're only grinding specifically for the achievement.

If anyone if having problems with new mounts not counting make sure you log on a Warlock or Paladin as they have two class mounts. Your

Toon A: Your achievement tracker says 199 so you buy 1 to get 200 but your achievement tracker does not change.
This is because you only have 197 mounts on this character and your new one takes you to 198 which is less that your tracked total.

Log onto your Lock who has 197 mounts + dreadsteeds (199) and your 200th Mount will track accordingly.

The total for this achievement is for 200 mounts on one character, not account wide. Alliance mounts will not show up in the mount list for Horde toons, and vice-versa, so that is why rolling a Night Elf to get their mounts will not necessarily help you boost your overall count on an Horde toon, as you most likely already have the Horde equivalents in your mount list.

This is also the reason that (as has been mentioned) it's a good idea to use a Paladin or a Warlock to track this achievement. They will have all the mounts available to that faction, as well as their two specific class mounts. Those 2 mounts do not show up on other classes mount list, making it so that your Pally or Lock will always have more mounts than your Rogue or Mage (etc.).

To get the achievement progress to update, just log into your Pally or Lock and open up your mount list, then check your progress and it should reflect any and all mounts you've gotten thus far.

Profession specific mounts WILL show up on toons that do not have the profession, even though it will not let you mount them, so obtaining them on an alt with that profession, then logging on your Pally or Lock will add those into your total number of mounts.

I'm hoping someone does a breakdown of what it takes to get this achieve. It looks like this will be hard to get "retroactively". By that I mean, if you didn't get some of the achievement and raid mounts when they were current content it is going to be hard to get them now.

I'm at 169 mounts. I can get another 13 fairly easily (mostly Argent Tournament mounts), plus there are still a couple I could buy from the store.That would make 185 mounts. I'm not interested in buying mounts from the AH or TGC mounts, so after that I'd have to farm about 15 very low drop rate mounts, many of them in raids that don't get much action anymore. My experience farming Reins of the Raven Lord and Rivendare's Deathcharger make me doubtful that I would ever get all 15.

Anyway, here's some good advice from Beefstew as posted on the Mountain o' Mounts page:
Follow these instructions. This is what I did:

Look up your character on battle.net (armory). On the main page of your character
Click Companions & Mounts (it's a link to the left side of the screen under Summary). You will now see 2 tabs (Companions, Mounts).
Click on Mounts
Click Not Collected
Then to the right side of the screen under the Filters... field,
Click Show Advanced Filters.
Select Vendor, Quest, Faction

When I did this I noticed that I had not bought any of the Blood Elf Mounts (7 of them) even though I thought I did.

So with this tool you can easily see what you have and what you are missing and then go about getting your 100 mounts! Also use this tool for getting you pets. BAM!

For those of you having a hard time tracking your mounts and where to obtain them, the addon "CollectMe" scans your toon available mounts (from faction and class) versus the obtained ones and filters and sorts the ones missing, allowing you to remove the ones not longer obtainable or the ones from the Blizz store or from PVP/Arenas, etc...
Also for each missing mount it has a small description where to get it, how much does it cost and a preview window.

It surprises me that Blizzard doesn't up the rewards for these. For instance if they offered a really impressive mount for the next one (250 I presume) it might make players more willing to buy the store mounts. So far I've managed all these achieves via just collecting and picking up TCG mounts off the AH (I don't want to spend any more real money). If the reward was truly unique it might persuade players to get those 'last few' via the store. As it was with just another Dragonhawk mount I was quite happy to be patient.

Not a great prize for being the ultimate mount collector IMO. anyone got any ideas, ive hit a wall at the 160 mount mark and have no real idea what to get :/ this may seem a bit vague but im considering the possibility of it being only obtainable through mounts not in the game anymore.

I wish if they added some sort of item that looks like a wing to use as a mount....so you can fly with your own char....that would be super awesome

Just a note that you do not need Cloud Serpent Riding to have the cloud serpent mounts count towards your achievement if you have Cloud Serpent Riding on another toon.

For instance, I have cloud serpent riding and 7 serpent mounts on my main with 199 available mounts.

My paladin (who does not have cloud serpent riding) received this achievement upon logging in, because of the extra paladin-only mounts.

Just wanted to let you guys know that this achieve is bugged for some people after the 6.0 patch. I was at 199 before I learned a new mount and after.

Just gotta wait 12 days now for my ticket to be answered.

Will update later with more details.

edit: Forgot to come back sooner - when I spoke with the gm, they said that with class specific mounts (paladin, DK, warlock) and profession mounts mess up the achieve counter.

Best way to get the achieve is log into a lock or paladin (especially if they have profession specific mounts).
