Warning:

Unfortunately, if your target already has a Weighted Jack-o'-Lantern currently on (as a buff) you won't gain credit and you lose the Weighted Jack-o'-Lantern in the process.

Just thought I'd let you know, as I used a few up before realizing that I wasn't gaining credit. However, you can ask the player to remove it by right clicking the buff and you can place your own onto them and it will count. Good luck!

When using this on a player from another faction you won't be tagged for pvp.

Confirmed that jamming one on your own head DOES count towards the requirements of the acheivement. So that's one less race you have to find.

I'm playing Tauren and for some reason, when I put the pumpkin head on other Tauren, I don't get credit. I did to to myself and still didn't get credit. I made sure that the Tauren i put it on didn't have it already. Anyone else have this problem?

You can unlock this Achievement in few minute,just stay in Shattrath.

If you still have these in your inventory, you can get credit for putting these on people's head outside the Holiday timeframe (as compared to some of the other Holiday achievements that must be done during the Holiday season)

Note that this Achievement does not have to be completed during Hallows End.

The pumpkins needed do not have a duration and I've gotten credit for putting pumpkin heads on people outside of the holiday season.

basically, Just get 10 Jack o laterns (Treat bags, Dailies, HH, etc..) and walk around Dalaran/Shatt throwing them on people ( If you can't get the hordes because you dont have LK or BC go into a BG)

This achievement will make alliance players realize that there are unfortunately very few Dwarves and 90% of the population of alliance is night elves and humans.

I have completed all the Kalimdor, Eastern Kingdoms, Outlands, Northrend, and Cataclysm trick or treats and not a single weighted jack o' lantern. I've Killed the headless horseman on 10 different 85s 3 times each so far, and still not a single weighted jack o' lantern. That being said, I did see someone open their loot filled pumpkin and get about 9, as I was leaving the group. Must be a luck factor in there.

Shin, the putting out the fires daily quest in Brill (for horde, not sure about alli) gives you one as a quest reward along with Halloween currency. If you do it everyday for the holiday that gives you 14 of them and you only need 12 for the achi. I just brought mine because I'm lazy lol. Not soulbound so try AH or 'WTBing' in General or Trade chat in your local main city :-)

I found by doing the daily stink bombing quest in the opposing faction's city - that you can target opposing players cleaning up the stink bombs and place the Weighted Jack-o'-Lantern on them for the achieve.

I'm so sure I got one on a player wearing a mask... might be thinking of the wands. I'll test this once i've gotten my last four races done.

EDIT: You can in fact throw a pumpkin onto someone if they are wearing a mask.

I found that while doing the A Time To Lose daily is a decent place to get opposite faction members pumpkin'd. You can throw the weighted pumpkins while mounted so after I finally got close enough to douse, I flew around and targeted the hordies turning in their own dailies and started throwing! There weren't that many players around though so perhaps the Molten Front or other neutral grounds might be better.

I enjoyed the risk factor of my method though as there was the chance of ganking at every turn.

You can use the trick I used with Fistful of Love worked find for me.

Launch WoW and create the new temporary level-1 alt, then logout
Login with your main toon and fly/travel to your level-1 alt location, then logout (don't Alt-F4, don't Quit)
Launch another WoW session, login and select you new temporary level-1 alt
Go back to your 1st WoW session and login again, selecting your main toon. You will see your alt in front of you for 15 seconds, so be quick and throw the Weighted Jack-o'-Lantern

I originally thought this achievement would be harder this year since Dalaran and Shattrath are ghost towns. While working on G.N.E.R.D. Rage I looked around and thought "Hey... there's alliance in this BG." I didn't think of it sooner because I generally don't care for PvP.

If you're going for Hallowed, just do this achievement in a BG while working on G.N.E.R.D. Rage. Yeah, there are work arounds to avoid the battlegrounds, but it's just faster to do it this way. Plus, BG's aren't that bad when you're not there to win, lose, or farm honor.

Just fly over Org in a broom. You can throw them while mounted on it.

Alright the way to get the lanterns is to start the Headless Horseman Dungeon so u can loot him when he dies. u get 3-9 of them at a time but u must start them. They also come from the Town Fire quest sometimes.

I did this achievement in a BG while working on http://www.wowhead.com/achievement=1261/g-n-e-r-d-rage at the same time... killed 2 birds in one shot :-)) enjoy!

You can work on this achievement while completing Stink Bombs Away! /Stink Bombs Away! by tossing pumpkins from your broom.

Easy to do while getting your GNERD achievement in BGs.
You can get a lot more pumpkins to throw off the AH. People usually start selling them right away.

I still have weighted pumpkins, though Hallow's End is over, and I've tagged two more races that have shown up on my quest as accomplished. If I get my remaining two, will I get the achievement, even though Hallow's End is over? Thanks.

Apart from battlegrounds, another easy place to do this is questhub of The Golden Pagoda in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms.

Though any place with a large concentration of daily quest givers (and thus players) will do, everyone will need Golden Lotus rep to unlock the other two factions, making it the most crowded place with both factions in the game currently during most hours.

For people (like me) who haven't ponied up the cash to buy the latest expansion, or the time to level a character high enough to get into the BGs everyone else prefers to play in, but you have gold to burn, the best way I found to finish this achievement is to do it in conjunction with the T&T of Kalimdor/EK. This was especially useful since I ran into the other faction doing the same achievements, and the best places to find the rarer races is usually around the contested areas in which both factions share the same quest hub/innkeeper, like Gadgetzan in Tanaris or Everlook in Winterspring. I found my last couple races in Mudsprocket, Dustwallow Marsh. It's infinitely easier to use the contested areas where there's a neutral 3rd party (like the Cenarions or the goblins) around as a quest hub. Then there's no dodging required.

Since I don't PvP, I usually find members of the opposing faction in Dalaran or Halfhill Market in Valley of the Four Winds. Halfhill being more busy, I usually have more luck there.

What I did is: use the jack-o-lanterns i got from the quests on my fellow alliance members in Stormwind.. bought six more in the AH, teleported to Dalaran an Shattrarh and used the lanterns I just had bought on the Horde players that I found there! Very easy

A tip for getting this as fast as possible on both faction: go to Timeless Isle - preferrably the Celestial area! Got it in about 5 minutes myself.

You can complete this achievement after Hallows End if you are missing any of the target races. This achievement and the incremental steps proc all year, event not required. The Weighted Jack-o'-Lanterns remain in your inventory after Hallows End, and can be traded at the auction House.

Various mentions have been made of where to look for the other faction. I like Dalaran, though on some realms, Dalaran is dead. Shattrath is almost always nearly empty, so not there. Battlegrounds are good. On Pandaria, I'd try Half Hill Market. When it's up, the Darkmoon Faire is excellent; I did this 'chievie on a very lowbie toon a couple of weeks ago (early August), and found all the other faction races I needed there.

How to get the achievement quickly:

1) Check AH if it has 12 Jack-O-Lanterns, I bought 12 for something like 1500g, price might be higher
2) Go to Dalaran or Shattrath (preferably near the opposing factions portal spawn)
3) Camp until you see the races you need for achi
4) ?
5) PROFIT!

Took like 15 minutes to get the achi in Patch 6.0.2.

The 2 easiest ways to do it:

Look for the players in the starting zones.Having trouble finding a dwarf - go to their starting zone.However the chances are there would be others doing the same , so the dwarfs might have the buff.Which brings me to option 2:

The easiest , 100% way - add a free Starter Edition to your account , log in with it , create the race you need , log in with your main account (you can log with the 2 at the same time) , go to the level 1 you created and use the item on him.And since you are controling both characters , you can right-click the buff in case someone else uses the item on you.EZ.

The easiest way to obtain weighted jack-o-lanterns is to buy them in the AH. They were not at all expensive.

You can find some members of the opposite faction in Halfhill, if you're high enough to be in Panderia.
