Insane in the brain!
If you looking for a quick and easy way to do this with some spare time you have, forget about it.
All this factions demand you to farm for hours many diffrant things.
You shold do the
before any of the goblin citys. To do that you simply need to kill lots of lots of Booty Bay Bruiser. If you never done any quests for Booty Bay you are lucky, if you have, as most people done already, you just need to grind some more. At some point you will get a
from 'em that can help you abit and ever gives another
feats and a title
Next we move to the 4 goblin citys (
) Once again - there are no quick ways to do this. Its also worth to note that you need to gain rep with the goblins without destroying your bloodsail rep. One way is to run Dire Maul north, easly soloable by any 80, kill mobs and loot then till you find the
Gordok Shackle Key
. Talk to the
half way into the intance and free him. This one
gives 350 points with all of the citys, and doesnt lower your bloodsail. Knot also offer another
you will need to stack on some leather and cloth for that tho, it gives 250 rep for the first time and 75 rep after that (thanks Sorislol), make sure to turn in the quest before freeing him as you can't do that quest after he run off. Other ways is to kill the other clan of pirates around the world, there are some in tanaris and near ratchet.
to exalted first you need to kill lots of syndicte anywhere you like. lots of them can be found in dunholde in hillsbard, they only gives 5 rep per kill so it gona take some time, but that's the easy part. (rogues can get there faster with a rogue only quests). After thats the hard part starts, you need about 1400
to get you from reverd to exalted, they only found when pickpocketing lvl 50-60 humanoids around the world. If you are not a rogue and dont have a rogue alt, you gona have to get this from other rogues, and not many carry this things around.
Next step we got the
, a lovly pack of high elfs living in dire maul. to get them to exalted you need to turn in 84 (77 as human) any combination of the three repeatable quest they offer (
Libram of Focus
Libram of Protection
Libram of Rapidity
), this may not sound very hard, and it could have been really easy also, only that the books are unique so you can only ever have one on you at a time. one way around it is to mail all hte books to you and get an engineer to crate a
near the quest giver so you can turn in all of 'em without too much travel time. you still need alot of Large Brilliant Shard, Pristine Black Diamond and some other mats depends on the book, but this should be easly farmable. As a side note you can use the Arcanume you get from this quests and turn them in inside Zul'Gurub for more rep with the trolls (its not part of this achivment, but can help if you not already exalted with them).
Last step, and may be the hardest one is the
. Getting to half way freindly is easy, just turn in any of the repetable quest (
....) and you should get there in no time. past that pooint the only way to gain rep is by turning in decks of cards, the lvl 60+ decks give 350 rep each. sound fun and fast only this things cost alot of gold, and unless you got afew millions to spend, thats a bad way to choose. "Lucky" us, the new iscribers can craft low lvl cards and this
once completed and turnd in give 25 rep each. you will need 1460 decks to get to exalted. so batter make friends with some inscribers. My opinion is you batter stalk the AH, you might find some of the
old lvl 60 decks
for cheep, they give 350 rep just like the lvl 70 and 80 decks, might be the way to go depends on you realm economy.
and after all of that if you done it all and got it all, you really are worth this title. Don't expact to see many people with it, so if you wana feel one of a kind and got lots of spare time, this is the way to go.
Does anyone actually have this achievement? Seems waaaaaaaaay out of my mind!
I know two people on my server going for it, and I'm considering it too.
Of course all they need is ravenholt and darkmoon faire.
I'am exalted with boot bay & friends and near zero with bloodsail.
I wonder can I start farming bloodsail before the patch hits ? (is the extalted boot bay saved?)
and - will it be saved if i start farming after the patch - or do i need to farm bloodsail (bringing boot bay near zero) and then do the boot bay grind again?
If it is not saved it will be a little bit annoying for people like me who dind't care for bloodsail at first but wanted to see a possible reward for booty bay. (I started farming when it was still unkown)
Looking at the only other similier achivment , you didnt get the credit for it if you done it before the patch. But also it seems from the wording on this achiv that you need to have both of them togather. So for you that means farming bloodsail to honored from zero and then the goblin citys again. Not 100% sure of that yet.
A very very very useful tip for rogues : while you're farming réputation with Bloodsail Buccaneers, you can pick pocket Booty Bay bruiser and have a lot of Heavy Junkbox, which are needed to increase your réputation with Ravenholdt. Indeed, even if they are level 77, they have a high droprate of Heavy junkbox !
I remember that some things can raise the Darkmoon Faire reputation to exalted, such as Dense Grinding Stone
Because the only way to start grinding for bloodsail is to kill the goblins you'll have to destroy your rep with them in order to earn exalted with the bloodsail and then grind it back the "hard way" mentioned above if you're looking for this achievement. I don't think they'll ever change the mechanism of that.
This achievement truly is for the insane.
Next we move to the 4 goblin citys (Booty Bay, Everlook, Gadgetzan and Ratchet) Once again - there are no quick ways to do this. Its also worth to note that you need to gain rep with the goblins without destroying your bloodsail rep. One way is to run Dire Maul north, easly soloable by any 80, kill mobs and loot then till you find the Gordok Shackle Key. Talk to the goblin half way into the intance and free him. This one quest gives 350 points with all of the citys, and doesnt lower your bloodsail. Knot also offer another quest you will need to stack on some leather and cloth for that tho,
but its another easy 250 rep per run,
make sure to turn in the quest before freeing him as you can't do that quest after he run off. Other ways is to kill the other clan of pirates around the world, there are some in tanaris and near ratchet.
250rep the first time, after it's 75 :(
I love old school jams
Why don't they just allow players to be able to gain Exalted status with Bloodsail Bucanners? =/ This might mess up the title being granted after doing the quest at friendly, but then they could just make it so that you need Exalted to get to the title from that point forward.
You can gain exalted with Bloodsail Buccaneers.
But getting exalted with them is even harder than this achievement put together :P
This feat of stength will be markedly harder after 3.1 hits, so I hope you have already spent the time get these reps to exalted. The main problem is the Shen'dralar and Darkmoon Faire reps, both of which require a lot items from the Auction House.
I mean grinding time, who cares about that, we can all do that eventually, but this title will cause AH prices to be INSANE lol. No way you'll be doing it without 10s of thousands of gold.
I started this a while back (right after I won the fishing contest so it wouldn't matter if I got hated there for a while) and to me the hardest part seems to be Shen'dralar to get the Pristine Black Diamond, since there aren't many of them on AH (on Anachronos realm) and they do have a very low droprate.

Long story short, there is but
, faithful to Booty Bay but residing in the Badlands, who gives Bloodsail rep through Revered. Each kill is worth one point. One point per kill, for one particular NPC.
A non-human would have to kill that same NPC 20,999 times to hit 20,999/21,000 Revered with the pirates, and needs the foresight to save their quests until they've hit that cap, so that the quest rep can push them into Exalted. In the comments to the page linked above, Wigwam (mentioned in the previous comment) states that he farmed this NPC for ten months to become Exalted with the pirates. If that's not a Feat of Strength, it should be.
Edit 28 Oct 2011:
The above post was written in response to somebody asking why "Insane" only requires Honored with Bloodsail, and whether it was possible to be Exalted among the pirates. Prior to the Shattering, Honored was about as high of a reputation as one could reasonably get, and it involved an incredibly challenging battle royale with the Booty Bay Bruisers. However, it was possible (if not rational) to become Exalted with the Bloodsail, as I detailed above.
As of Patch 4.0.3, Booty Bay Bruisers now give Bloodsail rep all the way to Exalted, making the full rep grind considerably easier. There's still no reason to go beyond Honored, but there's not much harm in it either, since the goblins already hate you.
do i need to farm bloodsail (bringing boot bay near zero)
Getting Bloodsail to Friendly will bring every last Goblin city down to 0/36000 Hated. So it's not even near zero, it's absolute zero.
and then do the boot bay grind again?
In all likelihood, yes. Aside from Mercenary of Sholazar, all of the multi-faction reputation Achievements so far require that you maintain the stated level of rep with all those factions
at the same time
. For example, if you became Exalted with the Aldor and three other factions, then, without doing anything else, worked your way to Exalted with the Scryers (thus trashing your Aldor rep), you wouldn't get the "5 Exalted Factions" Achievement because you're only exalted with four factions.
If this is anything like those, you'll need to destroy your Steamwheedle rep, then bring it back up
bringing your Bloodsail rep below Honored (which disqualifies the cloth turnins; you'll have to either zap giants or run Dire Maul).
the question is:
do we need to have BOTH bloodsail to honored AND exalted with steamwheedle cartel?
as far as i know, its impossible right now. killing BB bruisers will drop your BB rep, aswell doing repeatable quests to regain BB reputation will istantly drop your bloodsail rep to hated.
EDIT: the only way to do that is to do repeatable quests in feralas.
theres an achievement for hitting exalted with oracles AND those wolvar in sholazar (frenzyheart?)... and thats NOT possiple to do at same time..
so why would it be forced for this one?
Has anyone done this achievement? One person might have done it since it is possible if you are willing to spend countless hours grinding rep. If anyone comes across someone who did this achievement, please post.
you likely do not need them all at the same time. the other rep based achievements that require 20/25/30 etc work on a bar counting system (similar to rep itself really) however this achievement works on a milemarker type system. so when you get honored with bloodsail for example it should turn green and stay such. just like doing the oracle/wolvar or any other achievement with a defined list. if i hadn't already trashed my bloodsail rep, a whole week before this achievement came to fruition, i would test it.
another good example is that horrible holloween mask achievement. you don't need them all at once you just have to have owned them at some point.
Yeah started doing this achievement, or rather prepare for it when it hits Live.
rep grind is extremely easy and rather quick (<10hrs) even if you are hated like I was.
's first part is easy but for the 2nd part (lockboxes) you really need an alt rogue or a friend whose willing to grind those boxes for you. If you dont kill the target you have pick pocketed it will take around 10mins or so before you can do it again, so this kinda takes the low level alt rogue pick pocketing out of the question unless you want to change the place often where you are pick pocketing.
Few things that makes this a bit easier/cheaper (trying to avoid AH like a plague, unless the stuff needed is extremely cheap for some weird reason) -
Making the decks for the Darkmoon rep, scroll of recall for the libram, diamond, goblin rep grind in DM North. So everytime you've completed the quest and gotten at least 1 libram its a good idea to HS/scroll of recall back to Camp Mojache, sell the crap from your inventory and send your libram to your alt since as its unique you can only carry one at a time. And when you are turning in the librams unless you are engineer/got engineer friend with the portable mailbox
So you can dis all the loot for the shards needed in the libram turn in quest.
For pick pocketing the lockboxes needed to raise up your Ravenholdt rep, DM ogres are a good target.
Skinning / Leather Working
- For the Darkmoon armor kits.
Why don't people get exalted with all the factions besides the Bloodsail Buccaneers, and when the achievement is live, you will show that you have completed getting exalted with them. Then get exalted with Bloodsail and you will have been exalted with them both. The only question is whether you have to be exalted with BOTH at the same time.
because if you get this title, you ARE insane. People aren't going to stare at you gasping OMG HE IS LEET no they will turn away, whispering to their friends, wtf he actually grinded that much rep what a nolifer... this is not a title to be happy about :(
Confirmed on 3.1 PTR that you can be higher than honored with Bloodsail and it will still count towards achievement
Also it will append the title to the end so it will be "Lostshard the Insane"
He gives 5 Rep per Kill nowdays :)
and then do the boot bay grind again?
In all likelihood, yes. Aside from Mercenary of Sholazar, all of the multi-faction reputation Achievements so far require that you maintain the stated level of rep with all those factions at the same time. For example, if you became Exalted with the Aldor and three other factions, then, without doing anything else, worked your way to Exalted with the Scryers (thus trashing your Aldor rep), you wouldn't get the "5 Exalted Factions" Achievement because you're only exalted with four factions.
If this is anything like those, you'll need to destroy your Steamwheedle rep, then bring it back up without bringing your Bloodsail rep below Honored (which disqualifies the cloth turnins; you'll have to either zap giants or run Dire Maul). You seem to be forgetting about
Hero of Shattrath
, which is also a Feat of Strength, and tracks your rep status based on whether you hit exalted. (Unfortunately I hear it didn't track based on whether you learned a pattern, but that's irrelevant here, aside from indicating you MUST hit the rep level after the patch).
Therefore, it's likely you will have to do the Bloodsail rep grind, but not both, if you're currently sitting at exalted with all Steamwheedle.
However, Blizzard may decide to require you to be truly insane, and raise both to that level, as described previously in other comments. One must note the wording within
Hero of Shattrath
vs. this achievement:
exalted status with The Scryers and The Aldor.
(note the past tense)
your reputation with the areas listed below.
(note the present tense)
But on a counter-argument,
Mercenary of Sholazar
also uses present tense:
exalted status with the The Oracles and the Frenzyheart Tribe.
I guess at this point the best that can be said is:
(or PTR testing)
