The petals drop out of Gifts of Adoration which can get gotten only once every hour. They don't bind so you can trade and mail these. Not sure if they're able to be auctioned, but since they have a duration I would doubt it.

You also MAY be able to use the Bouquet of Red Roses to get credit for this achievement, gonna need confirmation.

You can now buy stacks of 5 of these from the vendor. It is no longer possible to send these via mail since they are limited duration items.

Aye, Bouquet of Red Roses works. Event doesn't have to be active for it to count, either, as I just got credit for all of the combinations today (save for the obviously impossible Human DK).

Fistful of Love

You'll need to cast (= rightclick once you targetted someone) Handful of Rose Petals on the listed races / classes. You can get the Handful of Rose Petals from the quest Gift Giving or any or . Dalaran or any battleground is perfect for this, but may take some time to find them all.

You might be doing this for the achievement Fool For Love.

You can not mail the Handful of Rose Petals between your characters as they are a conjured item.

Have fun this season if your one of the combination people need. Just stand in sight of people of the opposite faction but just out of reach from the porting guards.

I have the same issue, I'm targeting and casting and it puts the damn buff on me not the player, I've done this abotu a dozen times now what am I doing wrong?

Ok i figured out to turn off my auto self cast, and that let me throw it at the other players yet i'm getting no credit. This is by far the most annoying holiday series of quests i've engaged on to date.

If you don't want to run around a battleground and are on a PvE server, you could try setting up shop by the bubbling cauldron in the Hillsbrad Foothills. Alliance and Horde come here for the holiday and it is busy during the day. Just make sure you bring at least 5 rose petals and make sure to target the person first.

You can still get the Bouquet of Red Roses in 2009. Both the red and black roses have a chance to drop from the same three NPCs:

* Maiden of Grief (Halls of Stone)
* Prince Keleseth (Utgarde Keep)
* Prince Taldaram (Ahn'kahet: The Old Kingdom)

If you get the Red Roses, it will work for this Achievement. If you get the black ones, it will not.

I had all but given up on this, when I was standing in Ratchet, and off of the boat rides a Human Death Knight. He didn't look so tough with that cascade of rose petals following him around...

If a specific race/class combination just can't be found *chough troll rogue *cough, an alternative that worked for my Alliance toon on a PVP server: run to the Valley of Trials (troll starting area) and log into an alt on another realm (I used a DK because of the cash from the "starting experience"). Use /who to find a low level character and offer 5 g cash for creating a troll rogue on the realm of your main.

A relog, petal throw and a few /cheers later and you've got your shiny achievement.

As an Orc shaman i was the only one im my guild the rest was Taurens and trolls

Hence i remained flowerd for 20m while in a naxx raid

I got flowerd every minet wveywhere i went in zeplins in org in dalaran ect

Death Knights are so evil this achievement has two of them, thus requiring you to buy a third bulk of Handful of Rose Petals.

Good thing we can /Flirt with Disaster, those two tokens aren't wasted after all.

if you have problems with buying something this year try the macro :

/run BuyMerchantItem(11)

simple talk with merchant, count which number that specific item have , change the number in macro if needed... then run it still talking with merchant... and there you go - product is in your bag. :)

Just like the Pilgrim Achievement and the Wrath of the Horde/Alliance Achievements the ALT + F4 strat will probably work for this.

Basically you make a level 1 alt of what you need

Park that alt somewhere

Head to that specific place on your main with the roses on a keybind

Log back on the level 1 alt and hit ALT + F4

Quickly log on your main and you will see your level 1 alt idling there.

Use your the Roses fast because you got about 15 seconds or so before they disappear.

if Anyone cannot buy the Rose Petals, Love Rockets or Sliver Arrows from the vendor type in /run BuyMerchantItem then no space (11) for the rose Petals, (12) for the Love Rockets and (13) for the Silver Arrows. hope this helps :)

Don't waste your Love Token on this achievement, you can still use Bouquet of Red Roses. All lvl 85s should be able to solo for it, and you will need to get it for My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose anyway. There is a 5 min cooldown on the bouquet, but if you can find other things to do during that time, you will end up saving a few precious tokens.

Edit: To clarify, Bouquet of Red Roses drops from the following Northrend bosses.
* Maiden of Grief (Halls of Stone) - Confirmed, dropped on 3rd kill on 2/6/11. (first 2 kills dropped Ebon version)
* Prince Keleseth (Utgarde Keep)
* Prince Taldaram (Ahn'kahet: The Old Kingdom)

As of today, this achievement can be earned by using Bouquet of Red Roses.

Although it's a 5-minute cool down, it's nice to not have to waste Love Tokens on them.

(However, I don't think that the item works for . At least, that's what the comments tell me.)

I think DKs in general for these sorts of 'cheevs are a pain - cause ya can't just scout the starting zones like you can with other classes. After a Human DK, personally - gonna try Hellfire Pen, cause I figure that's where most DKs would be heading first, after they leave their starting zone.

Just a friendly reminder, this achievement is easy to get in large pvp grounds like Wintergrasp, Alterac Valley, and of course Tol Barad if you have the level to go there.

I just got mine in pvp grounds, just gotta keybind the petals and use it fast once you find the class/race combi you need.

Soloing the achievement
(except Orc Death Knight, see below)

You can easily "solo" this achievement by creating temporary level-1 alts of any needed race-class combo. You will be basically throwing petals at your own toons. How do you do that?

Launch WoW and create the new temporary level-1 alt, then logout
Login with your main toon and fly/travel to your level-1 alt location, then logout (don't Alt-F4, don't Quit)
Launch another WoW session, login and select you new temporary level-1 alt
Go back to your 1st WoW session and login again, selecting your main toon. You will see your alt in front of you for 15 seconds, so be quick and throw the petals.

This is a small variation from the usual Alt+F4 trick and I find it better because you can use the full 15 seconds when swapping toons. Just few small notes to make it work like a charm:

When you create the level-1 alt, move it a little far from the starting point to avoid level 85/90 guards when you land with your main
Memorize the exact point where you logout your level-1 alt, so you can bring your main in the exact position and avoid wasting time to cast your petals. Just logout near a specific building, tree, whatever
Blood Elf Mage will be tricky because you cannot fly in that world area, forcing you to run up to the starting zone. If you don't have good tricks to avoid guards be prepared to die 1-2 times.

Orc Death Knight
(alt money trick)

DK's start in a phased area so... you can't use this trick. But if you're not short of money there is another "typical" trick that will work fine. Go in any capital city, enter the /trade chat and type something like this:

"Looking for a Orc DK player alt (achievement needed). Will pay 100G for your time, can meet me at Dalaran fountain"

I offered 100G and got 3 whispers in less than a minute. Needless to say that spamming without offering money gave me zero results, but that really depends on your realm population. Offering money for a simple alt-switch will surely attract someone. Just keep in mind that farming 100G will take far less time than running around like a headless chicken trying to spot that damned Orc DK ;-)

Although I'm sure this was easier to pull off pre cata - I finished this up yesterday. Being Horde, on Proudmore, the Who window worked well enough without having to leave Durotar, and I was still able to find 3 of the alliance combos in Dalaran (Gnome Warlock, Dwarf Hunter and Draenei Paladin).

However, the two remaining Alliance combos seemed to be a bit tougher to find. Now, I could've just done it like a normal person and join a bg; but I really didn't have the patience to wait in queue. Since I play a Rogue, I figured It would be more efficient, although probably more painful, to just hit up the "source" - Stormwind.

First one (Human DK) was actually easy - shortly after walking in, I found one Away on one of the streets. I did attract a guard or two in the process, but managed to avoid players and drop out of combat in the Canals

Second one was a different story - there didn't seem to be a Night Elf Priest in sight for quite a while. Finally I was able to find one in the middle of a crowd of at least 10 players, and being more than a little suicidal - jumped right in the middle, and "flowered" him for the achievement.

Needless to say, I didn't survive - not with the combination of players and guards. However, I did manage to return to my corpse and leave, without having to rez at the graveyard.

Over all, in my mind anyway, a very - different - way of getting the achievement.

Got it relatively easy with the 2 hub cities SW and Org

I'm Ally so i got them my faction's ones in SW in AH and Bank.

Horde ones i got 3 at Ramkahen in Uldum as horde ported in and rest outside Org dueling area

Although I could've got all outside Org.

Best part is I didn't get killed at all; I just floated above duel area and scouted for my target drop down and sprayed him with petals, flew back up. RINSE REPEAT.

Horde were prob momentarily shocked that a NE dropped down from the sky to spray someone with petals thus allowing me to escape :D . Good Luck!

Now that Dalaran is a deserted city, here is what I did getting a Blood Elf Mage, as an Alliance. Will not take you more than 10mins. Have in mind that you will die once :P

Buy 2 x Elixir of Water Walking, will help a lot.
Get your main char, go to Shattrath, take the portal to Isle of Quel'Danas.
Since you cannot use your flying mount, just run to the southernmost part of the island, a bit left of the Dead Scar.
Use your Elixir and run towards Sunstrider Isle (South - SouthWest, use you map).
Fatigue will appear but keep running till you cannot move anymore, something like hitting an invisible wall.
This is where you die from fatigue. You will go in ghost form, somewhere near Fairbreeze Village in Eversong Woods.
Now run to Sunstrider Isle, towards your dying spot. Don't run through Silvermoon, use the sea west of the city. If you have any guild perks like The Quick and the Dead, will make thing faster.
When you are close, the ressurect message will appear. Accept, use your 2nd Elixir, watch the fatigue bar, mount up and return to the East beach of Sunstrider Isle(arround 41,17 - just to the shore with some sort of fences).
Log off and make a Blood Elf Mage and head to the spot where you logged your main char (41,17).
Now be quick, you have 20secs to do it. Alt-F4, run WoW and log your main. Your Mage will still be there waiting. Use your Handful of Rose Petals on him/her :P

I did the same for Tauren Druid, was much easier in Mulgore. Was lucky in Dalaran for the rest of hordies.

Have your friend create an alt char for you, then go to the starting zone and spray him. Easy job :)

Note: Won't work on Human + Orc Dk in the list because their starting zone is phased, you will need to search for them.

I was short a few race/class combos, and after queueing for a few Tol Barad battles and battlegrounds and even offering good payment in trade chat for some assistance (and being told "very common race/class combo, look harder noob"), I decided to go to Stormwind in my quest for x race y class. I was able to spot the class/race combos almost immediately. Sure enough, as soon as i swooped down to sprinkle some petals, I was slaughtered. After the long walk to my corpse, I was illuminated with achivement wisdom: tab targetting through the lot of alliance near a bank, i could spot my mark, resurrect and quickly do my petal thing. Of course, I'd get killed immediately but at least I had what I came for.

To sum it all up, Dalaran is a ghost town. If you're missing that one elusive race/class combo, march straight into Stormwind / Orgrimmar, or hover above and spot your marks. If you get killed while flying down to it, walk back to your corpse and wait for your mark in ghost form. When ready, resurrect and immediately shower some petals.

Not an ideal method to get all of the classes of the opposing faction but certainly a sure shot if you're missing one or two and don't want to waste too much time looking.

Here's a method that worked for me to get the Alliance requirements for this achievement:

Fly to Stormwind (Fly mid/low to avoid the flying guards) and find where the Test Dummies are, it may take a little bit longer than the Alt-F4 method but you're bound to see all the Alliance you need there.

Little Guide for this.

List a specific player in a town.
( expl: Gnome Warlock in Sw: write in the "Who List" frame: gnome warlock
and find one who stand in SW. )

Use next macro. (change the "PName" to the player name)

/cleartarget
/tar PName
/script SetRaidTarget("target", 7);
/use Handful of Rose Petals

If he is close, the macro use the Handful of Rose Petals.
if he is in the range, the macro mark him with red X. You can find easely.

I found many player at the bank and AH

Need 5 alliance character. I have done it about 10 minute.

6 Hordies:

I think, the best place for it: Alterac Valley (BG)
When you enter the BG, you can open the list of the hordies players. There is the classes, races and the names.
Choose a name and u can use the macro with it.

(Usualy when the Bg is begin , i ride middle and hide behind a hill. :) )

As a priest I kept queueing up for Alterac Valley until I found a Orc DK (Shift-Tab), then I kept doing /target x until I could target him then I used Mind Vision.. he was sitting up in Stonehearth Bunker. So I ran up there, used my petals and left the BG in the process of getting ganked by 5 horde. :)

Better than paying someone 100g in trade IMO.

AV is a great place to do this achv.

The best place is starting areas unless you are looking for a DK. Fly directly into Acherus and it won't take long for one to show up.

well for me the troll rogue was the one who almost make me smash my keyboard, i can say i was very lucky with the others ,ex: orc shaman.For me after half a day of frustration bg after bg ,going to dalaran ,uldum booty bay waiting and waiting for a rogue troll my only solution was suicide in the Horde AH.Even then i waited like 30min for a damn rogue....but after beeing killed 2times i manage to trow the petals / flowers on him and get the achievement.It is the last solution but at least it works for me.

Hanging out around the opposite faction's Tol Barad encampment was a pretty effective strategy for me. I got every single one except a Gnome Warlock in about 20 minutes. Of course, this was on a PvE server... it may be slightly more... deadly... to attempt on a PvP one.

There is a pretty sneaky way that you can do this. Helped out for the ones i couldnt get on my own.

Step one - Make the Race/class you need.
Step two - Bring ur toon you are trying to get the achieve on to that races starting zone.
Step three - open two wows, one with the Race/class you need online and the other ready to log in.
Step four - DC the Race/class you need.
Step five - log onto ur main rather quickly and you should see that the toon is still ingame although he is offline.

For 2012 this event starts the same week as the Darkmoon Faire is up, meaning a handy neutral area with lots of traffic from both factions, which should make this achievement a little less painful than last year.

Since wow is "free to play" till lvl 20 you can also create a free trial acc at your bnet-acc and log into two sessions of wow.
And yes, you can be logged in on two different wow-accs connected to the same bnet-acc.

Doesn't work for dks of course ;)

With the lack of a neutral city hub in this expansion like dalaran, which is pretty deserted these days, best place to find the opposite faction would be the darkmoon faire or caverns of time for people heading to DS during peak raid hours.

You can get credit for this achievement by casting Handful of Rose Petals on a player who already has the buff, provided they meet the race/class combination, of course. You can also get credit by casting this on yourself.

One thing I noticed was that I wasn't getting credit for when I sprinkled the roses on Druids that were shape-shifted. Same as the chocolate sampling quest, you can't offer a chocolate to a shape-shifted Druid since they doen't "count" as humanoid and the quest item says "Invalid target".

The same thing must happen with Shamman in Ghost Wolf, but I can't confirm this as I already got credit in my achievement.

If you didn't get this achievement during the Love is in the Air event, you can finish it off using the Bouquet of Red Roses even after the event is over. The cool down on equip and the five minute cool down after use make it a bit of a slow go, but it's still doable.

I might be stating the obvious here, but one can use the /who command to find the race/class combo's of his or her own sides factions pretty fast.
I was done in 5 minutes.

Usage:

/who <race> <class>

without the <>

have fun!

You can do this achieve on your own using LoqueNahak's tecnhnique or variation, unless you want the achieve on a specific char. If you're happy to simply having it on the account, pick a new (preferably non-PvP) realm, make a level 1 char of one the the required races and level it to level 5 to pick up the quests and farm enough tokens to get 3x5 petals, then just make all the required chars, and move them to a neutral place, such as Ratchet. It will take a while but you'll be able to do it without waiting for that elusive race/class combo to show. Also, you'll need to delete the first DK you make on that realm, after you used the petals on him, to make the 2nd one.

A bit of work, but soloable.
(I would rather reply to LoqueNahak's post, but alas, I have enough rep to make new posts but not to reply to existing ones... Go figure!)

Most easily way to done:
1. make wow starter edition on your main account.
2. log in you main account with wow1 and use you main char to do the achiv.
3. open wow again an log in with the same account and use wow 2( starter edition) and make here what char and class you want for achiv in the same realm were it is your main char from wow 1.
4. use you main char to complete achiv.
This mean you must have wow 2 times opened, one with wow1(main char) and wow2(starter edition)
Achiv is done without problem.

P.S. may main language is not english.

If you have a starter account, you can solo this by using it while logged on both starter and main account, except you still must find Death Knights (Orc and Human) to complete it.

I sat for 2 hours in front of Orgrimmar where people are dueling ( I am ally) and the only combination I've got was orc shaman ... seriously I thought the achievments are for fun, not to waste your game time. Good luck with troll rogue.

Didn't have as much trouble with this as I thought. For the Alliance races I just went to the starting zones for each race needed. For the Horde races I went to Dalaran and was able to get them all in under and hour.

you could just type ' /who night elf' for example for the night elf priest and then you find the priest and ask him to help you.
doesn't work or opposite faction cars...
