I ran all 4 and did not receive an achievement or the mount at the end. update: I ran it a second time and I received the mount and achievement. Not sure why I didn't get it the first time. So if this happens to you just run it again and you should get it.

Ran this on my 246 geared BM hunter.

Extremely doable without having to gear in the newest raid.

we easily pugged layer 3 but couldnt finish 4 , its getting way harder there

If you've finished the layer and did not receive the reward for completion, fear not, for you are just too much of a blaster for Blizzard servers to handle! Try relogging - you should get all the rewards after logging back in ^^

Layer 4 was considerably harder than the first 3. We completed it with a Balance Druid and Resto Shammy. The first two levels are the hardest, but after that, we had enough strong Anima Powers to pretty much cruise through the rest. The Bottled Enigma anima power helped with the adds that shoot bolts from all directions on the last level. The Resto Shaman was able to get Anima Powers that made his Earth Elemental permanent with an insane increase of damage which was invaluable.

Was manageable on my 235 Frost Mage (Venthyr) on the second attempt. First 4 Floors ended up being rough due to bad power RNG. Died twice on Floor 2 and twice on Floor 4, but it became trivial once I acquired the main powers needed.

I prioritized kiting and survivability in the lower few floors. If I could keep a sheep active, I would. I'm sure other strategies could work, and a higher ilvl will trivialize it.

These are the powers I prioritized, but choose your own as you will.

ASAP: Grisly Icicle, Triune Ward, Resolute Medallion x3, Obleron Endurance x∞

Soon-ish: Sapphire Prism x∞, Gravity Dynamo x3, Clouded Diamond, Highly-Polished Handmirror (received at the start, potentially easier without for some), Tundrid Phial (until the CD is 10-15 seconds with or without Archmage's Legacy),

Whenever: Mad Wizard's Scrawlings (found it on Floor 7, so it was mostly useless), The Stone Ward (extra survivability), Talent powers (as desired), Echoes of Elisande x1-2, Fire Juggler, any miscellaneous general damage powers you manage to find like Frostchipper, and any mage damage powers you'd typically use anyways like Eldritch Teachings.

Do this on a hunter for easy mode.

Keep re-rolling your first three powers until you get the following three:

Craven Strategem
Chelonian Crest
Death's Reset

You will need to eventually get one more Chelonian Crest, but this gives you almost 100% uptime on Aspect of the Turtle that you can attack through. This takes a while because hunter damage isn't great in Torghast, but literally any ilvl hunter can do it with this trick.

Layer 4 completed on a 232 Beast Master Hunter, with spectral crab pet in tenacity, Animal Companion talent, on the first attempt.
Animas order of importance:
"Chelonian Crest", "Death's Rest" , "Craven Strategem", "Piercing Scope", "Zovaal's Versatile Vittles", "Deadeye Satchel", "Bone Barbs"

Here is my strategy:
Look for the Animas called "Chelonian Crest", which increases the duration of Aspect of the Turtle and allows you to use all abilities while protected by it. "Death's Rest" Anima resets the cooldown on all aspects. If you have either 2 stacks of "Chelonian Crest" (increasing Aspect of the Turtle by a total of 400%, or an Anima called "Craven Strategem" (which reduces your Feign Death by 15 seconds) you will have unlimited Aspect of the Turtle, making you completely invincible for every fight. Simply cast Aspect of the Turtle, followed by Feign Death, which will reset all aspects. Once Aspect of the Turtle expires, or a second or 2 before, recast Aspect of the Turtle, followed by another Feign Death. Rinse and repeat for the whole fight. I try to recast Aspect of the Turtle a second or 2 before it expires to make sure there is zero time when I am not protected. Super easy, even if your pet dies. You will be able to rez him while under the Aspect of the Turtle, so no big deal there. To make the fights quicker, you are also looking for an Anima called "Piercing Scope" which increases all damage to mobs by 15% while they are marked by Hunters Mark. Another helpful Anima is "Zovaal's Versatile Vittles" which increases your pets health, damage, and size. "Deadeye Satchel" (kill shot has a 25% chance to instantly kill a target below 20% health) is a good choice if none of the forementioned Animas are avaliable. "Bone Barbs" will also be helpful, but is less important than "Chelonian Crest" and "Craven Strategem".
Buffs for your pet are the most important Animas after "Chelonian Crest" and "Craven Strategem".
As long as you are under the protection of Aspect of the Turtle constantly, and have "Chelonian Crest" and "Craven Strategem" Animas, you will be invincible and will have use of all of your abilities. The only real issue that I had was keeping an eye on the timers/ cooldowns.

Completed the entire run on the first try, 1 death, due to a misclick on Aspect of the Turtle, and it took roughly 90 minutes, and due to some luck I received the mount on this first attempt.
I am sure there are other strategies, but this one worked extremely well for me. Good Luck!

I'm having trouble with this layer, I can't do it neither with a 235 fury warrior, nor a 251 frost dk, I always did fine so far in torghast, but layer 4 gauntlet seems a massive jump compared to layer 3, struggling to survive\kill mobs in time in the first floors, usually get to the 4th floor with 2-3 deaths remaining and I had 40 anima powers too, but then the 5th floor starts with a boss with 1,2-1,5 mil and as soon as I attack it several trash mobs with high-ish hp spawn and I can't kill them in time, especially seeing as one of the bosses I got was the cellblock sentinel, which stuns.

Generally I think fury warrior is significantly stronger in torghast than frost dk, and I tried to get anima powers that give permanent enraged regeneration, 45 sec recklessness, stun on condemn, 50% more damage on charge\heroic leap, more damage to enemies affected by piercing howl, more hp whenever I could, also tried with the trait that gives more phantasma per victory rush, but the floor 5 boss seems like a wall, should I be able to do it with the gear\specs I use? What could I do different?

Solo'd as Enhance at 249 ilvl, just seems like it's similar to twisting corridors where you absolutely need specific powers or it's just near impossible.

As Enhance, you NEED the lava lash damage power. I had to reset/die a bunch of times to finally get it, but once you do, the rest of the floors are a cakewalk, I was literally saying "thats it?" to some after getting that power. I'd assume further layers are similar, if you don't get the lava lash power floor 1 is impossible, if you do you can push further.

Honorable mentions are the earth elemental CD reduction and just other defensive powers, HP boosting is a Godsend because some enemies can deal 50k+ with a single attack, wind shear CD reduction is great, as is the astral shift duration increase. You're basically guaranteed any of the useful epic ones, like the ascendance on BL and totems giving BL so don't worry about those.

Though I really wish they'd remove the venthyr legendary effect power, or at least have it do something more. Sucks getting that one as a choice since it literally does nothing with the legendary equipped.

The achievement says that it rewards Sturdy Soulsteel Mawrat Harness, which then "teaches" the Colossal Ebonclaw Mawrat. You do not receive an item. The Colossal Ebonclaw Mawrat will just go straight into your mount collection.

Ran this twice tonight with another player and I got the achievement on our first run through layer 4 but the other player did not get it. Ran it again and the same thing. We each got the achievement for the previous layers. It seems like whatever bug occurred during Shadowlands that caused this has regressed.
