Damn nice set bonuses here. Not sure if the bonuses are added or multiplied... I'm hoping added, since that would give:
+36% starfire crit chance
+36% wrath damage

According to the wowhead link on the 4set, it's proc rate is 3%. Not too bad, all things considered. I think blizzard is just trying to give us another reason to keep IS up.

IM sorry, but i will NOT get t8.5, i will stick with my t7.5 helm shoulders chest and gloves, the set bonuses are better and the itemization is amazingly better.

blizzard is aparently trying to make spirit a better stat, and just throwing it on all our gear is not going to make me want it any more than i hate it now.

6% more dmg on eclipse..which is up what, 30% of the time roughly? isnt that good(sure 10% dmg on 10% of our damage isnt that great from t7) 1% dmg increase vs a possible 2% increase at best from t8.
but looking at 4 set bonuses, currently t7 4 set bonus is euqal to roughly 45*5= 230ish crit rating. where t8 bonus is chance of an instant cast(so as i read it like other instant casts it still will proc gcd(correct me if im wrong!)) thus making it equal to a wrath cast but SF damage. 3% on tick is what it reads right now, i cant see it being all that often as IS ticks every 2 seconds. for me, keeping that 5% crit to keep up our 20% haste that much more often is far supiror to instant SF every so often+worse stats(spirit, WHY).

i plan on using 4pc t7.5+ leggs offset(wanton spellcaster or the new version of it or t8.5 as they are correctly itemized), as we use now. blizz thinks 1 spirit is 1 haste or crit when valueing items, i think of 1 spirit as .165 spellpower, almost nothing. int gives more mp5 anyway!(no im not using dreamstate...)

On the PTR, has anyone figured out whether the 2-piece bonus is multiplicative (34.5% total) or additive (45%)?

With the buff to the 2p bonus, Druids are definitely going to want to equip a pair of Nightsong pieces. The problem is that aside from the Legs, the set is really, really badly itemized, so much so that most Moonkin won't go for 4p Nightsong; this is also because the 4p bonus has a horrifically low proc rate and a huge cooldown. But aside from that, Nightsong pieces are overburdened with Spirit, and lack a real spread of stats.

This is why the Legs will be so popular; they provide two sockets and also high spellpower with crit and hit. I think you could make a case for any of the other pieces being viable candidates for the second piece, just so long as there isn't a candidate in that slot that is obviously and significantly superior.

Overall, a disappointing set. Hopefully it'll have some changes made to it, but I can't see that happening with the patch (at most) two weeks away.

Known tokens locations as of 16th April@04:45AM are:

This comment will probably get downrated over time as the database gets filled and links are being fixed between the items and their respective tokens but if you want the info in the meantime, at least... it's "there".

Well, at least Blizzard's getting their heads partially out of their asses... our abilities and mechanics are finally worthy of a DPS caster.

Still, we've waited long enough for some decent DPS gear. Hit on our Leather, a *large* reduction in the massive amount of un-needed Spirit (if not complete removal; all of the Leather in-game right now, with its overload on Haste, Spirit, and mp5 are perfectly fine for a Resto Druid, but not for Balance), and an increase in Crit rating are what we need.

Okay, comparison time: (note that all of these are caster DPS sets)

The Balance Druid Conqueror's set is clearly lacking in comparison. Worst in multiple stats, poor Gem slots, and the only thing that makes it "superior" to the others is that it has the highest Spirit (if anything, Warlocks should have the highest Spirit, since they get 30% or higher, as opposed to 15% for Druids).

Multi-piece bonuses might be good, but what good are they if the stats on the gear suck?

These are both extremely good set bonuses. I use a Starfire Eclipse rotation, only casting Starfire while I'm under the effect of Eclipse, and Starfire is roughly 50% of my total damage output. The ability to nearly phase out non-crits here, and the ability to drop instant cast starfire crits while under Eclipse, is absolutely insane. It may be a bug, but right now the proc does not have an internal cooldown and a 10% chance off every tick.

What the problem actually is, is that the two-piece valorous bonus is worthless and the four-piece valorous bonus is essential; you can't easily make the transition to the next tier without taking a DPS hit.

Since no one has mentioned this yet, in patch 3.1.2 Improved Moonkin Form will grant 10/20/30% of spirit as spell power for 1,2,3 points in the talent respectively. This will make this set very viable in comparison to T7.5 so I will now be aiming for a full set appose to just 2 pieces.

As of 5/14/09 the 4-piece set bonus is bugged. If it procs while you are casting starfire the buff is consumed instead of carrying over to the next starfire cast, making it essentially useless unless you luck out on proc timing or it procs during the wrath portion of a lunar eclipse rotation.

So, according to my gems, 19 spell power = 16 spirit in terms of item budget. 16 spirit gives me 4.8 spell power.

So instead of the 64.8 spell power I get from the set being itemized with spirit, I COULD have 256 straight spell power instead.

Very very very rotten deal we got on this one.

From being the king of crit in tbc, to struggling for enough in wotlk. Set bonus and all looks fine. All the folks going on about 2 pc are a bit off. To get the two piece u are dropping 4pt7. Once that is gone why not get 4pt8? Don't understand the logic there. But while all other classes have always got a fancy 4 set moonkins always had the 5% crit as though blizz were addressing the lack of crit in talents. T8 4 piece too is just another way to compensate the removal of that 5%. Tbh i would just like to crit like hell. got 750 crit rating atm at the cost of haste. Its all about proccing ur current idol eclipse with squwak and having low crit phases inbetween. One of the easiest rotations. but at the mercy of the eclipse procs. Great on stand and nuke. Usually fails on high mobility encounters. (separating the eclipses will greatly help i predict)

damn! I was lookin forward to having the full set but it seems like EVERYONE is hatin the whole set. Maybe not the whole set, but i guess theres just better things out there.

How is the instant starfire? How long is the int cd on that?

For matching transmogrification sets...

Blizz seems to have snuck too many offset items with the unused color schemes, I can't find any offset pieces that match the maroon/blue-ish colors of this set. :-/ This pic has the four recolors. #2 is the 10-man version and #3 is the 25-man, and all the relevant offset pieces seem to be 2/4 with a couple 1s for good measure. If anyone's found any of them I'd love to know/edit this post...
