Indeed. It doesn't really hurt anyone, unless you are somehow into making others suffer as you did when you had to run and walk until lv40. The mount, the increased xp per mob and quests, the de-eliteification of lots of mobs. Yes I would say Blizzard wants to you to level some alts and possibly also make it easier for new players to reach "the game" cause well up to lv70 it's just a transport segment to join the game these days isn't it.

This is clearly a slap in the face for warlocks and paladins. They STILL have to pay 90 silver to train their riding skill, whereas everyone else gets a 55!!! gold discount. That's just not fair!
GG blizz at nerfing paladins and warlocks once again
YEAH FFS BLIZZ SUCKS WTF -.-
Just unfair tbh lol, even tho that my ud priest that i lvld up got mount yesterday at lvl 30. serly blizz sucks

There is one group of people who are negatively effected by the drop in level for the mount. That group is the high level chars.
During the past 2 days I have had not 1 not 2 but 3 ppl wspr me saying "can I have ## gold for my mount?" In addition to direct whispers, people have asked in the /s the /y in all the different cities as well as trade which spans them all! I had never had the problem of a level 30 coming to me to ask for money before this patch, and now it seems it won't stop. I have had one wspr me and when I said no, he followed me around the city the rest of the time i was there, I got so sick of it I ported to Shatt to go to a diff city. Low and behold another seemed to be waited to wspr the next person coming out of the Mage section of TB.
All I can hope for is that this will teach the lowest of level chars to be more money smart and to save up to pay the meager 35g. On all of my chars I have at least 20g by level 20 so 35 by 30 doesn't seem that crazy of an idea, but the current batch of 30s seem to be quite incompetent.
I'm done with this rant, I just needed to get it out of my system.
Time to log on and fill my /ignore list.

The cheaper, earlier mounts had a negative effect on me.
My level 41 shaman had to go mountless for like 3 weeks while I waited for this patch to hit! (didn't feel like wasting 55 gold, I'm not so rich that 55g is pocket change >_>)

it affected me negatively because I went mountless for three weeks >_>
If the cost wasn't going down I would have just paid the 100g and had a mount much earlier.
Now that the cost is down I can get one.
It's more of a psychological negative than a "my character got screwed", mind you.

Which is what I did.
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy about the change, it means when my warrior and her band of merry women gets up to 30 I can afford mounts for them all (group of friends) >_>
