-Fünden rode his ram into the small recess of Loch Modan. He came from the North Gate Outpost in Dun Morogh. The terrain in front of him changed from snow and ice into temperate grass and plants, the snow blocked by the mountains behind him.
-In front of him stretched the Loch, a huge lake glittering in the distance. He pulled out a set of gnomish goggles and peered through them. He could barely see the Stonewrought Dam on the other side.
-He passed over the town Thelsamar and continued onward, walking moderately fast along the road. He didn’t feel the eyes behind him. “He… no… take… CANDLE!” muttered the dark outline, and it ran after the ram.
-Fünden heard the feet a second before they arrived. He leapt off of his ram and spun, axe in hands. The kobold, for such as it was, raised its own weapon, a small stone mace. Fünden deflected the first blow with his axe handle, and waited. The kobold snarled and swiped again. Fünden parried again, and saw no sport in this. He swept his axe down and killed the poor creature. “Kobold filth,” he said.
-Fünden wiped his blade in the grass and got back on his ram, walking toward the North Gate Pass. Along the way he saw a large bear, and pulled out his rifle, holding it carefully. To his relief, the bear continued on. Even he wasn’t fool enough to try and take on one of the Modan Bears by himself.
-He arrived at the North Gate pass, a large tower, when he spotted several dwarven soldiers running from the tower. “What’r ye about then?” he called to them. One turned to Fünden. “Orc, Dragonmaw! They’re making a push through the Gate!”
-Then the speaker started. “Fünden!” he said excitedly, and rushed toward him. Fünden squinted through the sun, looking… “Khaz!” he cried, and gripped the other Dwarf in a tight embrace. “Let’s get tae choppin’ some orc, eh Khaz?” he said, smiling. Khaz nodded and they turned toward the gate, weapons raised.
((I'll get some epic battle action in the next part. And as always, point out any mistakes please!))
