(( It's dangerous to go alone, read this. ))
- "You summoned us, my king?" Morec said. He and the three Scourge that had been assigned to assist him - Miriam, Nalor, and Anuk'arag - knelt before the Lich King, the Dark Lord seated upon the Frozen Throne. For lesser minions, the Lich King would simply contact them through his mental powers. But, as some of the Scourge's most loyal and powerful, the Lich King was gracious in letting Morec and the other three bask in him unholy visage.
- "
Yes
," The Lich King said, "
while my attack on the Argent Vanguard may have been halted, I have other plans to conquer this world. Unfortunately, the Lieutenant to be in charge of this attack has fallen. Heroes of the Horde and Alliance invaded Azjol-nerub and slew Anub'arak
."
- Morec had heard of the crypt lord's death, but had thought that the Lich King would simply resurrect him. Had the nerubian been defeated to the point that even his king could return him to life?
- "
I have been unable to attend to his resurrection
," ah, that explained it, "
but my plans must
not
be halted. I need a servant of great loyalty to attend to rallying and leading this assault against the living immediately
." The Lich King pointed Frostmourn at Anuk'arag. "
As the most powerful of my nerubian minions at this moment, Anuk'arag, you shall do this for me
."
- "I am honored, master," the vizier said.
- "
Secondly, Overlord Drakuru has failed me in Zul'drak. I need a second servant to replace him
."
- Morec had also heard of Drakuru's failure, having been defeated by a single mortal. The death the Lich King had given him was too good, in Morec's eyes, but who was he to denounce the judgment of his king?
- The Lich King pointed Frostmourn at Nalor. "
You will take his place, Flame Lich
."
- "
I shall do as you command, master
," Nalor said.
- "And what of me, my king?" Morec asked.
- "And I as well," Miriam demanded, "my king."
- "
Both of you shall remain in Scourgeholme
," the Lich King said. "
The Argent Crusade in Icecrown still pose a threat to my power and I need to loyal and exceedingly powerful servants to remain here and insure that they living do
not
threaten my power any further
." He eyed all four Scourge. "
Succeed and be rewarded. Fail and
suffer
!"
- The four Scourge understood, and they departed for their assigned locations.
...
- As Morec was flying over Malykress - the Vile Hold and home to the Host of Suffering - he saw the death knight initiates battling down below. He urged Umbragos down and then dismounted once the frost wyrm had landed on the ramparts.
- The death knights of the Host were still few in number, and even less in skill. Morec deduced this last part as he watched the initiated battle. Without doubt, this was because of Orbaz's influence.
- He saw one initiate, though, that seemed to know what she was doing. After parrying her opponent's blade she brought her own sword around, striking the other death knight in the legs and crippling him. The female death knight then brought her blade up for the killing blow. She started to bring it down...
- But Morec stopped in, grabbing her arm. "No," he said bluntly. The female looked at him in shock then Morec adjusted the angle on her sweep. "There, you should bring an overhand slice down like that. A much more efficient kill that way."
- The human nodded and completed her attack as instructed. Her opponent collapsed and moved no more.
- Morec returned to his mount, and then once again began to trek to Scourgeholme. Only, this time, he was lost in thought.
- Because of Orbaz, he'd lost the opportunity to his opportunity to train the next generation of death knight's en masse. However, he'd not lost the opportunity to train a single
apprentice
.
- His mind whirled over the possibilities.

Writer's Commentary:
- Alright, that settles what the Third and Fourth Chapters are: Retaking Zul'drak and The Battle for Scourgeholme. More on this coming
very soon
.
- On another note, Morec's apprentice is no idle threat.
Soon
we'll see just what this holds in store. But I will say this: any death knight that has ever been mentioned on this forum is a possible canidate.
- Let the descent begin...

- Upon landing at Moaki harbor, Nilon was stunned by the appearence of its inhabitents. They looked like walruses, but they stood an two legs and walked like other humanoids.
- Rey noticed his surprised reaction and scowled. "What's the matter, paladin? Never seen a tusker before?"
- "Actually, no," Nilon replied. "Do you have a problem with that?"
- "You bet I do," Rey said. "Our guide should be waiting by the cheiften's hut, let's get going."

You wont be hearing from Morec for the whole of The Depth of Azjol-nerub - if I remember correctly - but I think he'll be mentioned in Retaking Zul'drak. In fact, a... special ally of his will be introduced that some posters here might remember.

You better fix that into 'appearance' before posting it :p
Nonetheless, I'll be waiting in suspense.
