It's now showing literal BBCODE? Oh boy. Why?

We changed the \ tag to ignore markup. Otherwise it was getting really confusing where our forum markup was overlapping with tags used in other languages.

Hmm. So, how do we make tables with links without a functioning \ tag? (I know there
is
one, but the key word is "functioning". It's not useful without knowing the right CSS class to give it and there aren't any CSS classes that do what I want; I looked.)
Also, what does this mean: "Otherwise it was getting really confusing where our forum markup was overlapping with tags used in other languages."
What's an example of this?

arrayVar

Right. Hmm. I was thinking English, Spanish, Russian ... heh. Was it too much hassle to just type \arrayVar\\\?
So, the question still remains: how do we make tables with links without a functioning \ tag?

I too would like to have this change reverted. I dislike \ with a burning passion.

\ is meant to display code, you don't want tags to be parsed.
What you're looking for pelf is a new \ tag ;)

But I most often do want them parsed. It's rather hard to emphasize on something with plain text especially in more robust code chunks.
Even when I don't want them parsed I could escape them, but now I can't do anything about it. That's my irk with it. Please don't make me have to use \ :\.

Yeah. I think that's in a post of mine from years ago... I won't go look for it, I promise :).
Any chance of you doing this soon?
EDIT
: I changed my profile in anticipation :).

And a bug report: the new handling seems to trim the space character(s?) before the #showtooltip
/use Consume Shadows;Seduction;
edit: But apparently not always. It doesn't do it with a simple/asd jkl

@Miyari: You need to fix your code blocks. People are copying the markup that isn't parsed anymore.

Neat. Though, I had never observed that behavior before the other day. /shrug
