New Icecrown Citadel Bosstiary for 5-Man DungeonsBy Malgayne on 11/20/2009 at 3:38 PM PST
Blizzard has also posted a brand new Bosstiary! It's a handy set of maps, with interesting little lore tidbits with each boss. No screenshots yet, though, and nothing for the raid instance. Hopefully that stuff is coming soon, eh? 3.3 More Than a Month Away?By fewyn on 11/19/2009 at 8:52 PM PST
According to a post by Datth (one of the official technical support posters), Patch 3.3 is more than one month away. This would put it at the end of December most likely the 29th or even early January. [quote=Datth url=http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=21034438977&pageNo=1&sid=1#2 blizzard=true]Hi Alisperis, We only provide mirror links for full client patches. Background downloads do not count. You have around 1+ month to download this file so we're not really worried about your speed. :) As there is no official date posted and Blizzard usually doesn't even come close to mentioning them take this with a grain of salt. But be sure to expect 3.3 sometime Soon™.

Tier 9 CompendiumBy ArgentSun on 11/19/2009 at 2:58 AM PST
Icecrown Citadel knocks on the door, Arthas is likely getting dressed like Santa, and a new Tier set is coming out. Looking at the names of the sets, they don't seem anything special - so I thought* it's probably a good idea to post some extensive explanation about the last Tier. Why? Because it is actually interesting from a Lore perspective. Remember, back when Tier 9 was released, how a lot of people were excited about Alliance and Horde not only having different sets, but having those sets named after famous members of the respective faction and class? I don't know about you, but I was really excited to be a part of the lore on that level. And because of this inspiration, this blog was born - a compilation of relatively short summaries of all those heroes' and villains' stories. Read on! *Not really. Read the note after the break.

Icecrown Raid Access Progression Revealed!By Togikagi on 11/18/2009 at 11:24 AM PST
Lead Encounter Designer Daelo has published a lengthy post on the official forums that outlines Blizzard's plans for access progression in the Icecrown Citadel raid. The citadel will be broken up into four sections, and all of them won't immediately be available when patch 3.3 goes live. [quote=Daelo blizzard=true url=http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=21038229051&sid=1]We believe a staggered release of the content will allow players to experience Icecrown Citadel at a sustainable, measured, and ultimately more enjoyable pace. Here's a list of the noteworthy points Daelo mentions in his post: The Lower Spire will be the only section that is available initially. Plagueworks will open several weeks later, followed by the Crimson Hall and Frostwing Halls. Players may not attempt the Heroic 10/25-player encounters until they defeat the Lich King in the Normal 10/25-player encounters. The Lich King may not be attempted until Professor Putricide, Blood-Queen Lana'thel, and Sindragosa are defeated. Also, the Heroic difficulty of The Lich King encounter may not be attempted in any week unless these three encounters have been defeated in Heroic difficulty that week. Raids will have a limited number of attempts total each week to defeat Professor Putricide, Blood-Queen Lana'thel, Sindragosa, and the Lich King. As these boss encounters are unlocked, the number of attempts available per week will increase. Once all 12 encounters are unlocked, a zone wide spell effect will be applied to all players in the following weeks and months that will increase their hit points, damage dealt, and healing done. The effect will increase in effectiveness over time. Also, additional attempts against the final four boss encounters will become available during this time period. The full Blizzard post can be found after the jump.
